Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 20, 2011 1:13 pm We are working with a draftsman designing our new house. We know the layout we want but conceptualising the facade's design for the house is hard. The concept also needs to show the accurate colours of walls, windows, roof etc. We have broad ideas what we could like and not, but it also comes to many factors including roof types, windows and overall visualisation of the options considered. Our draftsman says he would use the house's front layout (rooms, windows etc) to define the facade design but says that's will be more a practical "version" rather an "architectualy" or artistically considered model. I am interested in experience of others in this space. Can you employ an architect or another similar service to work out and fine-tune possible facade concepts (but not the entire house)? Have you used someone to create visualisation of the facade and worked any changes yourself? Any other suggestions? The only problem is that as the facade is a fairly small part of a total house design the fee will be fairly high in proportion to the amount of work. Also some architects may be reluctant to give you a price for such a small job. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
