Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 20, 2011 12:01 am Howdy everyone,
My wife and i are building with Coral Homes and have selected the Stradbroke 279 on the Gold Coast. We have a 805sqm block at Stone creek and have so far settled on the property, past contract stage and now the plans are with the certifier. I’ve just started this thread to keep you all informed as the build progresses. Cheers This is the front of the block looking to the rear Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Final Plans Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is our tile selection for the wet areas Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our neglected block, I'm out there with the whipper snipper Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 2Jan 20, 2011 1:59 pm Very exciting! Can't wait to see your build start. I am a fan of the Stradbroke - Coral had it as a display here in Hervey Bay and I really liked the layout, we ended up going with a different builder otherwise we would have built the stradbroke. Did you change anything from the original plan? Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 3Jan 20, 2011 2:52 pm Haha. I just realised who you were. I was emailing your wife "S" a while back comparing our plans. I think you were waiting for contracts at the time. Nice to see things are moving ahead. Can't wait to see your progress. How exciting!! I love your colours. They are similar to what we are having Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 6Feb 05, 2011 8:14 am Woohoo!! That is fantastic!! Can't wait to see heaps of pics. We sign our contracts on monday. Slowly making progress. Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 8Feb 11, 2011 1:18 pm Oh yayyyyyyy. So exciting!!! We will hold you to the pics. We awaiting to go to council.Sihgned contracts on monday. How long after you signed contracts was it sent to council? Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 9Feb 13, 2011 10:03 pm Hello again Tamara! Glad to see things are moving ahead for you too It went to council about a week after we signed the contract...that towards the end of December. -Shannon Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 10Feb 14, 2011 4:17 am Hi Shannon. Great to hear things are moving ahead for you.We will have to compare houses when they are finished. I was looking at your plans the other day and imaginging walking through your house with everything reversed. Our house s build the same way as the UC display home. We amended a couple of mistakes when we signed the contract so I am thinking they will amend the plans before we go to council. I hope it doesn't take too long. Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 13Feb 14, 2011 9:10 pm RaryGirl Oh another Coral builder! We're building a modified Noosa 279 near Bundy! Look forward to following your build. Awesome! i love the noosa 279, that was our second choice from the Stradbroke, the alfresco was in the wrong spot for us Im looking forward to next tuesday, my wife and i will head out to the block late in the arvo and hopefully see some progress - pics to come . We're at our build almost every day after work checking things out. We'll watch how yours goes with interest! Cheers! I agree Stone Creek seems to be quite the little boutique estate, which sets it apart from surrounding high density developments (I just hope it doesnt join up to highland reserve anytime soon). We have our meeting at the block with the site supervisor tomorrow morning to apparently start building and talk about retaining walls etc, i just hope the rain doesnt ruin it tomorrow. Have you got a build thread Paul? I'd be interested to follow your construction. Cheers Anthony Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 18Feb 21, 2011 9:02 pm I hear ya about the highland reserve thoughts.. we are renting there at the moment and can't wait to move! We don't have a build thread but have a bit of a blog going here: http://transitioncreative.net/stone-cre ... 1&paged=21 (Choose 'Read more' to expand the posts) Cheers Paul Re: Ant & Shannons Coral Homes - stradbroke 279 19Feb 22, 2011 7:13 pm PaulW  I hear ya about the highland reserve thoughts.. we are renting there at the moment and can't wait to move! Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1798 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74700 |
