Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 18, 2011 5:46 pm Hi All I've just paid my initial deposit with Carlisle and would be appreciative of advice from anyone who has been through the process as to what to look out for and be thinking of. This forum was very helpful in assisting me in making the builder decision and I am keen for any insights on this next stage. How exciting!! We've just started our build with Carlisle and have nothing but praise for the admin side of things. From memory, the next step is variations. Your consultant walks you through the house and you discuss the structural changes you want to make, such as moving windows and doors, door height, adding sliding doors internally, bulkheads, moving walls, etc. There's a great thread at the top of this section of the forum "things you forget" which has some handy advice of things to consider. After that your customer service person gives you a call and books in your colour appointment. It's all great fun, and there's so many helpful people on here that you can't go wrong!! Good luck.
