Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1384Sep 04, 2012 11:31 am thanks, mine has 2 joins too, just wondered if it were normal. obviously it would be because the material is x wide, but i did take much notice of the displays and i never noticed it, i didnt know if they ran the material long ways. i asked who, because i was curious as to if you had it done by the same people who do dechellis displays. thats who we ordered thru, the decorating bug on unley rd. they were meant to come last friday to install and only came with the pelmet and track! tried calling, but no answer, sent DH to the shop yesterday to find out what the is going on.....and they have gone into liquidation!!!! so peeved off! so i dont know if we are getting it yet or not, but at least we have the pelmet. we also ordered 3 shutters, and that been about 10 weeks now, so no idea where thay are Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1385Sep 04, 2012 12:22 pm Sorry to hijack your thread mclaren. WO, we are waiting on curtains and two roller blinds from The Decorating Bug too. We've paid our deposit and got nothing. Only found out yesterday that they're going into liquidation. We went there yesterday and it looked shut but Kym was in the back office. After knocking for a quite a while, he came out and said he couldn't refund our deposit as we asked if he could. He said he has another curtain business and so he would be able to make the curtains but not the blinds. He said that they're going to be sending a letter in the next couple of days telling customers whether their order can be fulfilled or not and apparently my order for curtains will be. TBH, I don't believe it will be. Do you know who the administrators are? I'd like to get in contact with them. It's been 7 weeks since I ordered. Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1386Sep 04, 2012 12:32 pm i have no info my husband banged on the back door too and spoke to kym, he said he would call in a couple days (wont hold my breath) the said we should still get them because they are made. but who knows, he is probably not telling the truth, otherwise why would they have not been done friday.....i dont understand why they would just do the pelmet. it all makes sense now, for the past few weeks ive been trying to get an update, so im sure they would have known at least a few weeks ago i hope we dont loose our money! Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1387Sep 04, 2012 1:17 pm Must be his standard line Peter said it's up to the administrators as to whether the order will be completed or not. It's so frustrating to get caught up in this. They would've known for ages. Peter said business hadn't been good since the GFC and that was a few years ago! We'll have to wait ages to get another curtain company to make them and we can't really make a new order with another business when they're acting like we'll still receive our curtains! Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1388Sep 04, 2012 2:11 pm That's not good news about your curtains/blinds .. hope you don't lose your money I'm a bit miffed as well today - Consumer Affairs have been chasing the builder and the tile supplier re our complaint about our tiles that have optical haze - surprise surprise they are denying any responsibility and say they warned us about it at selections. I don't think so - why would we go ahead with tiles that look so awful? They also said that the tiles were inspected before they were laid - but not by us ... surely we have some rights? The lady at CA can't understand why they supply tiles that look cr@p either - I'm going to get in touch with my contact at the Tile Council and see if there's anything we can do to progress our complaint. I wonder if they'd like to appear on Today Tonight?? Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1390Sep 04, 2012 5:07 pm Hi Kiwi - nice of you to pop in - I have been warning people on H1 about it ... I wish we knew about optical hazing when we were selecting the tiles .... How's the new job? Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1392Sep 04, 2012 5:11 pm New job is great ... been here 7 weeks now and loving it!!! Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1394Sep 04, 2012 5:19 pm Mclaren, it's such a shame that you're still fighting this a year on I do hope it gets sorted out soon. Glad to hear the new job is enjoyable In regard to curtains - I think I might be making my own curtains and buying off the rack blinds from Spotlight! Seems to be way too much disregard for consumers I hope you are both able to get refunds or goods finished. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1395Sep 21, 2012 8:43 pm Just popping in to say how lovely your house is. Any luck with your tiles? If it's any consolation, your place still looks amazing Build Again I have a thread, feel free to read! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57912 Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1398Sep 25, 2012 9:12 am Thanks Dee - it was a pleasure to have you and Cris visit and thanks for the gardening tips! I've googled "foot square planting" and it looks like a great idea for our "box" and you are spot on about where the lemon tree should go! We had 10 tonne of soil delivered yesterday so Arthur is moving that around the garden ready for planting soon!! Can't wait - I'll post some pics when we have something to show. Build again - no news on the tile front but still gathering information. If we don't get anything out of it at least others will be warned against getting tiles that are not first quality. Thanks for the compliment - we are very happy with our place (apart from the optical haze ). I might see if there are any library books on the subject too, thanks for the tips Dee and Mclaren https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110592 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
