I can see why you are insisting it be fixed... But we have something to bargain with. When they were fixing some of the roof tiles, they sent an invoice because they felt some of the damage was from the air-conditioning people. They have paid us, but we wont pay the invoice, until they fix everything. Its amazing when I said that, they started getting the traidies ringing me hahahaha I can play the game just as bad back. It is very frustating having tradies through. Especially when it should have been fixed prior to handover. I swear they think the women stay at home. They truly don;t realise the inconvenience, having to take time off to get them to do the job. I was sick of it, so mother in law who doesnt work, comes when work needs to be done. Re: Building the McLaren by Dechellis 1143Feb 20, 2012 10:06 am We have been in nearly 15 months and only have 1 item remaining now which occurred after we moved in but it took at least 12 months to get some of our issues finally resolved. We had some "wooshing" sound coming from the ceiling in the bathroom and DH knew it had to do with the sarking not being stuck down properly but there was so much argy bargy between the roof people and the sarking people that they kept blaming the other. In the end, my constant emails and phone calls lead to a resolution but you really need to keep hounding them. Plus I always followed up every phone call and meeting with a summary email just so that I could always refer back to dates and promises etc. I am glad that it is almost over and done with though! SOunds like everyone has had the same problem - I think it is all builders and not just specific to a few. I guess all you can do is hope that they fix it. I have heard of some builders that are shockers! ------------------------------------------------------ Handover: 14 December 2010 Current: Putting in plants! Oh and noticed on the weekend a leaking gutter that was supposed to be "fixed" in December ... so that's back on the list ... and while we're waiting we can enjoy the local area and the reason we moved here .... Port Willunga is a coastal village on Fleurieu Peninsula, home to ancient shipwrecks and seaview restaurants. The remains of the Star of Greece, a three mast, iron cargo ship wrecked here in 1888, provide a poignant reminder of the storms that can sometimes disturb this normally placid coastline near Willunga. Jetty pylons are all that remains of Port Willunga's early days as a grain port. The soft, sandy beach is now greatly valued as a safe family swimming haven, overlooked by cliffs where fishermen once carved out caves to store their boats and nets. Now the closest some people get to the local squid and garfish is in the popular restaurant, The Star of Greece, overlooking the beach and the wreck of its namesake.
