Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 17, 2011 11:56 pm Hi everyone, we're meeting with a builder this weekend for discussion with regards to having our plans quoted. I know there will things we want aside of the standard inclusions and are in the process of making a list. The written list of standard inclusions regardless of who we get them from tend to lack details when one considers how much goes into building a home. I'm interested in hearing any advice you can give on what types of questions/information should we be seeking? Re: Advice for seeking quote 2Jan 18, 2011 12:49 am I personally find the typical inclusions list comprehensive enough. It is safe to assume that if something is not on the list that you think should be, the reason is more likely to be that it is simply not included in the base price, rather than just lacking that detail! The inclusions list is more detailed in the contract itself so maybe ask for a copy of that for your purposes. Is what you're thinking of perhaps more along the lines of actual design elements? These are usually house specific. You'll find with volume builder's that your upgrade options will be limited by what their suppliers can provide. Perhaps get the names of the suppliers and check out their showrooms for a better idea of your options. There is another thread here with suggestions on inclusions and upgrades with a summary on page 11- viewtopic.php?f=31&t=5823 Re: Advice for seeking quote 3Jan 18, 2011 5:41 pm Hi inverell, thank you.
