Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 341Jul 27, 2012 10:35 pm Guys just had our driveway done. Check out R&A concreting, based in hallam. They are very competitive compared to the other driveway company doing works around harcrest. Worth a call!! Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 342Aug 21, 2012 2:05 pm Tramsok Hi Chris and Team_W, Welcome the thread. Yes we built with Carlisle, they were extremely quick with our build. Our site costs (which included the retaining walls) was around 25- 26K. I've been extremely happy with them, so best of luck with which ever builder you chose. I think there are at least 4-5 homes being built with Carlisle in the Stage 1 and 2. Gren, we submitted our landscape request form last year and still waiting on for our landscaping. I've been told it will happen soon, but in reality I don't mind waiting until our neighbour has finished building to avoid it all detroyed. Hi Tramsok We have decided to go down Carlisle way. Just wanted to check with you did you have a fixed site cost?? or was it variable? was that why your site cost was around the 26k mark?? As we were given a fixed site cost of 12k approx and I just need to re-confirm with you if there will be more add-ons(hidden surprises)..later:) We have asked in everyway possible and they have said that all we need to pay is developer requirements around 9k and any upgrades we do. Thanks Chris Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 343Aug 21, 2012 2:48 pm Wow ...I like your floor and the splashback. Can you pls tell me the colour of the splashback and the floor. Good combination of colours. We want to go with timber looking floors but very hard to match the interior as it needs to be more on the whitish side. White and young toddlers don't go well thks chris Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 344Aug 24, 2012 2:06 pm Hi all, we're nearly there. Got the Occupancy Permit and awaiting the final inspection etc. then its time to get the keys.. Its been a long time since we started the process so a few more weeks before we move in...can't wait! Can anyone help me with Timber flooring if you've had them done? I'm specifically looking for a 1-strip or even 2-strip Blackbutt floating floors for an area roughly 70 sq.metres supply and install. We've got one quote which we think is very expensive, and we've got another one doing measurements next week but if any of you have had a good experience with someone in terms of pricing and quality, I'd love to know. Also, is NBN operational? Is anyone linked up and running? Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 345Aug 25, 2012 10:34 pm Hi Arun, We had bamboo flooring done for our bedrooms by F0wles for about $70/m supply & installed. They have a lot of timber flooring options and were the cheapest we found. Yes, NBN is up and running. Once an order is placed with your chosen ISP it will take about a week to confirm an appointment for installer to come and connect you up. Regards, Bill Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 346Aug 27, 2012 2:52 pm hi Bill, thanks for the info on flooring. I'll get on to them straightaway. I spoke to both iiNet and iPrimus and yes, they confirmed NBN is available. I need to check what infrastructure the builder has provided so we can make sure there are no additional costs to incur. Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 347Sep 01, 2012 10:44 pm Hi Chris, Our splash back was Donkey and floor was Brush Box, hope that helps and good luck with your colour selection! Arun, NBN is operational and definitely up and running! We've built a single story house with Porter Davis. This is the last item to tick off for the completion bond. Thanks! /Bill Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 350Aug 26, 2013 7:57 pm Hi all. Just like to warn everyone that the man at Harcrest told me next release will be $625K for a 12.5x28 block. Apparently, every time they release a new set of blocks, they jump the price up by $30K! So if this is in your price range I encourage you to start buying now! But for people who just want a nice block in a nice suburb, there are some very nice 700sqm+ knock down rebuild blocks in Wantirna and Wantirna South within walking distance to Knox and in zones of great schools for about $500K. I recently bought a house with a nice rectangualr 800sqm block at the rear of a quiet court near Templeton Primary School and are getting ready to knock down and rebuild with Metricon! Hope this tip was useful! Re: Building @ Harcrest, Wantirna South 351Sep 04, 2013 11:32 pm Looker13 Hi all. Earlier we were planning to buy at Harcrest, and we were quoted price range for a land starts from approx 425k to 600k for around 400sqm land size. Personally for me asking price was too much for such a small piece of land. Last year we ended up buying an old house in a quite court with land size approx 765sqm and guess what this property is just one lane after Harcrest estate. We started our process for knockdown and rebuild process in early 2013 and currently on final stages of building and hopefully will get keys by end of Oct 2013.
