Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 11, 2011 6:40 pm Hi all.. We are building the Porter Davis - Forestdale 29 (Allendale Facade) in Tarneit (Heartlands Estate) and have just finalized our colors, but we are not exactly sure if the colors we have picked for the facade will look good when they all come together at the build. Heartlands guidelines state that we must have full front rendering, and that's what's causing all the confusion. Can you please give ur suggestions on our color selection below for the external colors & post some pics if anyone has similar colors.. Facade: Style: Full front rendering, Color - Self Destruct Roof - Style: Macquarie tiles, Color - Ebony Facia & Gutter - Colorbond Monument Downpipes - Colorbond Jasper Garage door - Style: Panelmasta Caprice, Color - Jasper Windows - Style: Aluminium, Color - Jasper Front door + frame - Style : Wooden, Stain : Solver Antique Walnut (Waiting for final costs at contract and if too expensive then we might convert this to standard door with jarrah color) Bricks - Boral Jarrah Mortar - Off White Also we are putting 600mm eaves to the front having the white ceiling color. EDIT : Mouldings Sills Color: Colobond Jasper (Not sure what this is and what color to take ) EDIT: Here's a similar facade with approx colors & without the eaves using Envisage: http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#/homevie ... estdale/29 To see Allendale facade, click on the "view all facade options" link at the bottom left corner Thanks in advance.. Re: PD Forestdale 29 - Color selection dilemma ! 2Jan 17, 2011 9:10 am Hi Baronx, We are also building with PD in the South East. I think your colour selections are lovely, nice and neutral and when you landscape the garden it will really set off those colours. Well done! I had a look at your facade on the PD website and the mouldings your referring to are the trims around your windows. They're like an approximate 100mm decorative mould/trim that goes around the windows to finish them off. If you wanted a very sleek modern look, you may choose to have them left off or have them painted in the same colour as your render, or if you wish to make them more of a feature, have them painted in a complementary colour. Either way would look nice, depending on the look your after. Best wishes. Re: PD Forestdale 29 - Color selection dilemma ! 3Jan 17, 2011 8:31 pm Just be aware that Self Destruct will look nothing like your pic. We have Self Destruct render and it turned out far more yellow than I wanted. We will eventually paint it (after we do the other 3,000 things on the list of things to do!). I was at a friend's today, and she has Time Capsule as her render (I think), and it is very similar to the colour in your pic so that could be an option. Here's a pic of our Self Destruct render..... quite yellow. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. We are also considering using it to render a section on our facade. Re: PD Forestdale 29 - Color selection dilemma ! 5Jan 19, 2011 9:58 am ^^I'm not sure to be honest. Our bricks are light but have more a grey undertone as opposed to yellow or pink undertone, and the colourbond is Evening Haze so I was hoping that it would all play down any yellow.... but it seems to have highlighted it. You are right. It's quite yellow in tone than what I had expected. I think having the jasper garage door will make the look of the house even darker. That's why we've decided to switch all the colors and go for a new theme. Re: PD Forestdale 29 - Color selection dilemma ! 7Jan 19, 2011 7:04 pm Thanks for that, Joles. I don't think your home looks yellow, it looks nice and creamy, and with landscaping (which you have probably already done) and some folage against it, it will really set it off. I do understand though if it's more creamy than what you'd imagined. Colours can look so different once they are in a large area and in the sun. We have our colour appointment tomorrow, and I'm freaking out lol! I appreciate your help, thanks. Baronx, good luck with your colour selections, it's just so hard to visulise everything! Re: PD Forestdale 29 - Color selection dilemma ! 8Jan 19, 2011 7:13 pm We had self destruct in our old house as feature walls in the bedrooms. It's a funny colour - changes so much dependent on light - in small rooms it looks really green!!! If you are trying to go for a colour like on your mockup, I think you need to look for something with more grey tones vs the yellow/green of Self Destruct. Good luck!!
