Our house was broken into once again! This time by the roof! They took a bunch of roof tiles off from the master bedroom roof and entered trhough there. They were also kind enough to leave the tiles off exposing the insulation and plaster to any rain that may be on it's way! Thank you very much! I wonder how often this happens, where the one house is targeted so many times in such a short period? Luckily, there was nothing for them to take. Our SS told us that he is not putting any fixtures in until handover. Told us QA was next week and we have to get back to him with when we would like to book in PCI! I'm a little about that but also a little at the same time! On the upside, everything with the bank has been sorted. Thank goodness! hopefully we can book in PCI for the end of next week. Hi Bel&Marz, I really can’t believe it. What is your SS or Building Coordinator saying about this? What are they stealing? We are aware of this happening and as a security measure this is why we usually don’t install any fixtures until handover or within a few days of handover. Sounds like your SS has it under control however if there is anything I can try and assist you with let me know. Please make sure you keep us in the loop with what happens and when your PCI is booked in. Regards, Ebony Porter Davis Homes Questions? The same thing did happen to us numerous times through out our build - from tiles, to spa baths to fly wire doors - over and over our garage internal door and front doors were broken into - I know you technically don't own it yet - but you still feel violated! Rest assured after you move in that feeling of violation goes away and you realize that it was people wanting to score from a building site - not from your personal home. Hope this helps that you know you're not the only one that was repeatedly targeted! All the best for the home stretch of your build and just hang in there until you get those keys Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: Bel and Marz's PD Sandhurst - Not again! 285Jul 22, 2011 9:19 pm building1 Jeez, again? WTH? You're so close Bel! I can't wait! I just want in! Tamara1975 OMG that is terrible. So gutting. Hopefully you will be living in there soon. I am amazed at how easily they get in through the roof. It is really worrying that they can take the tiles off. Scary isn't it?! pattycake4 Glad to see you are looking on the bright side, makes you wonder about the Human race sometimes.Hopefully not much longer. We know it is just around the corner! The very first time we were told by our SS that someone tried taking the bifold doors, then the second time they tried getting in but couldn't, they damaged the front door and frame and one of the bifold doors and frame and buckled the study window frame where they tried jamming (what looks like) a crowbar or something. The third time, is where it was strange to me because nothing more was damaged showing where they got in. They took all of our taps, our external locks and all door handles. This fourth time they entered through the master bedroom roof but didn't take anything because there is nothing to take. I don't think there is anything anyone can do. If they want to get in they will. Our SS is doing the right thing by not putting anything in until handover. That is pretty much all that can be done. Thank you for your concern. It's very much appreciated! Re: Bel and Marz's PD Sandhurst - Not again! 291Jul 22, 2011 9:59 pm pattycake4 Me to [didn't want to say] What makes me think that is the time when they actually did get in there were no windows broken, no further damage on any of the doors nothing to show where or how they got in. All locks were taken off the external doors and all taps were taken along with all door handles. They must have been there for a while, they even had a wee in the ensuit toilet and because the water was turned off it couldn't be flushed. The smell was awful! My advice would be to start looking into fencing companies and get the fence up as soon as you move in, then book for the installation. That should help a tad bit. Good luck!! Hi Bobbie, We are building in the northern suburbs of melbourne. It's the standard to put in the appliances and HWS at handover here also. The door handles and taps is what was taken and are not being replaced until handover. I think it's a good idea as that way there isn't anything to take really. I'm looking into fencing, we have 2 dogs so the house needs to be fenced before we move in. Thank you for your help! When i drove up to the house i shot straight past it! I almost cried when i saw the render as it was far from the colour we had choosen. The we chose at our colour appointment was an offwhite colour, very close to that of the windows but possibly a little more white. The colour the colour consultant wrote down on our selections was CB- stone. We didn't think anything of it, we didn't take notice fo the names of the colours (stupid) we simply picked out the colour and handed the sample to the consultant. After seeing the finished product, i then looked into the name of the colour CB stone. It turns out the colour (according to what is written down in the colour selections) is correct.
Right now we are at the point where we are completely over it! We just want in and are not fussed over the wrong (according to us) colour. We do not want to cause any more delays. I just hope it doesn't look too bad! Re: Bel and Marz's PD Sandhurst - Render finished! 297Jul 28, 2011 5:31 pm It blends in with the other colours,I do think the lighter would look better. But with what
you guys have been through,I would leave it you never know you might end up liking it. The house looks good. Re: Bel and Marz's PD Sandhurst - Render finished! 299Jul 28, 2011 5:47 pm Changed mine mind, the more I look the more I like Re: Bel and Marz's PD Sandhurst - Render finished! 300Jul 28, 2011 6:34 pm Looks good to me! Move in, live with it, see how you feel in a couple of months. I hate my render colour and will eventually change it. I've bailed up a few renderers around here and they've all told me just to paint it with a good quality paint. I have it written down somewhere what they recommend... dulux something or other. So the positive is this... if you do still hate it, it's really, really easy to change. Probably one of the better things that can be stuffed up. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home.
