We are building at Spring Farm (on Mirvac) side and are really happy with the location. Our roof is going up this week and we have spend most weekends for the past 6-8 months in Camden as we love the area - (and of course have been watching things happen on our home) and I have only ever noticed the smell once, and it didn't seem too bad at all. Spring Farm itself is very quiet and seems to have lots of young families. I just can't wait to finally be in. Good luck! Love the area Hi Ann81, The build is going great, we should be at lockup before the end of the week. We used to go every few weeks when we had grass too, haha it's quite sad isn't it? But once we had a slab, it was hard to refrain from going more than once a week. I think it's good going once a week because often they don't do anything on our place until later in the week, so if you go too early, it can be disappointing. The slab went down in Jan for us, and we have been told we will definitely be in by end of June - no firm date as yet though, hopefully mid June. We have been lucky and only had a couple of days of work stopped due to rain and Easter. We aren't from the area so it's been great finding new places to eat and we always stop for coffee in our favourite place in Camden. There are quite a few great cafes in Camden to choose from, and even the areas around like Picton and Cobbitty. Although you may already know this if you're originally from around here? We have just found Downes Nursery which we just love. I will update you when we are in. Re: Spring farm camden? anyone? 11May 29, 2011 7:33 am susiebunt We have just purchased a block in Spring Farm i was just wondering how much you guys allowed for site costs/BASIX/Council etc? Hi susiebunt, We build a home and land package with Mirvac, so all the the basix and site costs were included. From my experience, when you visit a builder, such as Eden Brae, Wisdom, Allworth etc, all of the main builders, they will tell you that you need to allow at least $30K, in my experience, it's been closer to $50 or $60K. We were advised if we stick with lighter colours, the basix is lower. Hope that helps, Cheers! Re: Spring farm camden? anyone? 12Jul 13, 2011 11:01 pm We shall know by a week or two how much site costs will be though each builder has told us (without seeing the block) from 20 000 to 40 000 but can go up. We will be getting a builder who we have decided to go with go see the block over the next week or so so should know a better estimate, Deposit on land 08/01/2011 Contract signed 20/02/2011 Settlement - 07/07/2011 Re: Spring farm camden? anyone? 14Jul 22, 2011 2:05 pm Hope all goes to plan.... i have hand over on Monday woooohooool https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=37134 THE THREAD https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=35962 THE BLOG! http://pedrosinspiredbeauty.blogspot.com/ BRICKS BRICKS ARE FINISHED... Have met some of our neighbours and they seem great. It's so peaceful, the house is perfect, a few issues when we first did the handover, but nothing that wasn't addressed and fixed straight away. Hope everyone else is going well. Cheers! DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair We purchased a 1960s property that is on timber stumps mostly, and a newer section is on concrete stumps.
