Browse Forums Building A New House Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 21Dec 08, 2007 11:03 pm Sorry to hear that Ricci.
I agree with Ray, looks like M's VIC is run differently to QLD. We are also building with M (but just commenced last week). I have friends and relatives who have built with them (and are building with them at the moment) and everybody's satisfied with the quality and timeliness. It is really best if you escalate it to the higher management people. Good luck and let us know of any developments. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 22Dec 09, 2007 5:43 pm I feel for you - but at least things are moving again.
Your experience is exactly why we decided not to build with them - there are loads of houses around our area that seem to have little or no activity for extended periods. Cheers Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 23Dec 10, 2007 12:14 pm Seriously, this topic with how bad M is in Brisbane comes up a lot. From this point forward anyone choosing them after reading this forum really can't complain about anything - there has been plenty of warning on here. Vic seems to do a good job but i am yet to meet a happy customer in brisbane.
Maybe we can send a petition to M on behalf of Ricci so they know how many of us are watching.... Just build it the way I want and everything will be okay. Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 24Dec 10, 2007 12:21 pm Hey bmp, my knowledge is that the Big M is already keeping an eye on this forum, as are other builders. That, i think is a good thing....
I also believe that if these issues are elevated to the right people it can be rectified pretty quickly - that's all i can say. Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 25Dec 10, 2007 12:46 pm Had an hour long meeting today onsite with the supervisor and construction manager. The brickies had turned up finally. As far as completion time goes, they reckon Mid-Feb. I still think that is far too optimistic.
I also got a call from the Regional Manager who wants to meet me out there tomorrow. So they have obviously taken heed to our escalation of complaints. Will let you know how it goes. Building for the 1st time with M3tricon Site Start was 19th July 07. It's been 2 weeks to Handover for the past 8 weeks. Go figure. Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 26Dec 10, 2007 12:52 pm Well Done Ricci, keep escalating it, keep business cards/contact names & numbers for future reference (if you need it) of the people you are meeting.
Stay on top of them and follow up on dates/timeframes given to you. Make notes so you don't "forget" anything that is mentioned, and get confirmation of agreements made in writing or by e-mail. The power of this forum is great. Good Luck Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 27Dec 10, 2007 2:59 pm Good on ya Ricci,
in our case too M have been a bit slow. slab was early Nov and frame has just started.. completion date is july 08 so I guess we'll be fine. In your case I hope it all ends well and they do a good job for goodwill (is there any in this building industry?) Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 28Dec 11, 2007 9:25 pm We very unhappy with the whole building process with Mtrcon. It took them six months to do the contract. They then took 3 months to start on the house which did not then fit on the block and they then had to resize the house to fit. It has now taken 10 months to build the house and it is still not finished. We are now over the contract finishing date and there is no mention of the big $15 per day they will pay us.
I would just suggest that anyone considering building with Mtrcon should seriously reconsider or be prepared for a long frustrating wait. This has been the worst experience of our lives. Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 30Dec 11, 2007 10:08 pm Hi Ricci,
Great news! I hope they finally sort out all your issues with them. And as what Phoenix suggested, keep all agreements with them in writing. That's what we did with M. At the moment, we don't have issues and very happy. Good luck and keep us posted! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 31Dec 12, 2007 9:25 am Holy Cow! If they keep working like they did yesterday Ricci it will be finished before Xmas! Went past at 12:30 and the house looked like an anthill but crawling with people!! Came back at 6 and the brick work is nearly done.
Hope they keep this up or we may all be forced to protest in front of their display homes.... Just build it the way I want and everything will be okay. Re: To Anyone Thinking About M3TRICON READ THIS 32Dec 12, 2007 9:55 am Thankfully our bricking should be finished today with plasterers beginning tomorrow. The Big M has also said they are going to provide a schedule of works between now and completion so we have agreed dates of when each trade should be starting and finishing by.
Escalation pays off. At this stage they are saying a completion of Mid Feb is likely Building for the 1st time with M3tricon Site Start was 19th July 07. If you are looking for a postitive then maybe its that by the time you are in and ready to do work out ide it won't be the middle of summer if you could hold onto those phone numbers, just in case I need them later that would be great.
