Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 06, 2011 5:07 pm Hi all, Can anyone please advise how much was their fill per tonne. Also, is there a posibility that fill is supplied by owner, as there is plenty of people that ar building that would actually need fill removal, so could possibly get the fill for free. Our builder wants to charge us $6800 and says we need 170 tonnes. Thanks for your response. Remember its not just the cost of the fill its also hauling it to your site, placing it, and compacting it. The actual cost of the fill itself can be a small part of the job The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Fill needs to be clean and it's generally sourced from the one source to ensure they can control the fill process and therefore warrant the foundations. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Site costs-extra cost for fill 4Jan 06, 2011 9:24 pm Thanks for replies. I checked the site costs thread, but not a lot has been said about the actual cost. Another surprise cost, not final yet I think. The will charge the other home owner to take it away any you to dump it. The system sucks but that's how it works. By the way, this will just be clean rubble nothing special. Re: Site costs-extra cost for fill 6Jan 07, 2011 8:04 am My excavator is charging $200 per truck of fill. One truck load is 10 cubic meters. I have no idea what that is in tonnes but a quick Google indicates something like 1m3 is 1722kg so that works out to around 10 truck loads @ $200 per. Is it a sloping block? Ours has a mild slope but we need to fill to balance the cutting required. It means we won't have as big a step up to the rear yard Re: Site costs-extra cost for fill 7Jan 13, 2011 10:54 pm Our builder has organised with our estate developer to get our fill from them at no expense, since there's so much of it laying around the estate anyway why pay for it? It was the builders idea too Re: Site costs-extra cost for fill 8Jan 14, 2011 4:12 pm Hi all, Thank for replies, still no answer from the builder. The block is sloping 1700mm fron to back, but a little bit on a diagonal so need to balance it as well. Not sure how they'll go about it yet. selina2106, your builder sounds great. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13103 Is anyone building with Mojo and have a recent site cost tender 0 15954 Henley should give you some indication of site costs.
