Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 29, 2010 10:47 am Hi We are about to demolish our place. We have a neighbour who is also about to demolish their place. Between us, we have a very tattered fence, along with 3 trees on the fence line that neither wants. What are our chances of getting them to share the costs of demolishing the fence and the trees. Removing 2 of the trees is more in their interest than ours. PS. Council have no interest in the trees. Thanks Re: Demolition – Sharing the costs with the neighbour? 2Dec 29, 2010 3:51 pm I don't see why not, it sounds fair. Have you thought about sharing the cost of the whole demolition? if both houses are roughly the same size it might be worht your while, or even if they are not you might be able to come to some agreement whereby it gets split 60/40 or something similar? might save you a few dollars rather than getting two demolition crews out separately.
