Not sure when will start at this stage, not in too much of a hurry atm!! We actually have a Building Company so we will be building ourselves. Are you currently in the area? Cheers Re: settlers run botanic ridge 604Jun 07, 2012 10:30 pm Justmeagain P_and_M Justmeagain Hi P & M, We are lot 343. When do you plan to start building? Who are you building with? Hi Justmeagain Thanks for the information, it's a great little old school. Believe it or not I used to go to this school many moon's ago! I visited the school back in March and it was like walking down memory lane. Albeit, the school might be old but as long as the kids enjoy going there and learn, I am happy! My daughter will go there next year, Grade 4, and my son will start in Prep. Cheers Rodtrac Re: settlers run botanic ridge 606Jul 19, 2012 8:42 pm Hi everyone, Wondering if anyone can help me!? We've had our roof trusses delivered and the delivery guy made a comment about how low our pitch was or something to that extent, and it has me worried (and wondering) if anyone else had issues with the 5 metre height restriction and the roof pitch? We are in Finlow Street, and would love to know of any other houses that have similarly pitched roofs? 15 degrees I think we're now at???!!! It annoys the crap out of me that we've had to change our pitch and yet there is a house just up the road (in the street) that is WAY higher than the 5mtr limit... Different rules for different fools it seems? Re: settlers run botanic ridge 608Jul 24, 2012 12:07 am We ended up having to dig our house in further because it was over the 5 metre approval height, and this was AFTER the design approval committee had signed off. They revoked the approval until the builder fixed it. Our place is plodding along nicely, a few issues, but I've given up trying to get them resolved, I just want my house finished. We're at lock up now and they've told us we'll be in sometime in September. Re: settlers run botanic ridge 609Jul 25, 2012 1:28 pm Hi ORG, We live at 20 Finlow st and we originally had a tiled roof but because we had to have a 15 degree pitch we were told that because of the weight of the tiles we had to go to Colourbond at a cost of an extra $6500.00. Re: settlers run botanic ridge 610Jul 25, 2012 2:36 pm Earley, I think its lot 321. Its the one to the right of the path, nice big house! But then there are so many nice houses being built! It looks so much higher than most in the street, but it could be just me! We had to speak to Daniel from DAP the other week re NBN and when we asked about the height rule not being hard and fast, he gave a response that some builders/designs couldn't manage the 5m therefore were given dispensation... And that is where it irks me! In saying that I took a drive up the street and the 15 degree pitch on the houses looks great! Plonk, that is RIDICULOUS!!! Revoking approval??? After the fact too.. Wow, I'll be glad when this is all done! Re: settlers run botanic ridge 611Jul 31, 2012 8:39 pm Hi there, has anyone received dispensation for exceeding the site cover ratio of 45%??? Re: settlers run botanic ridge 612Oct 24, 2012 12:55 pm Hi guys - we're building at 27 Finlow Street (Lot 314) - I wish i had discovered this blog earlier - we have had all the same issues that many of you have and are going through - re: roof height, additional garage, retaining walls etc. Has anyone had issues with their crossover location and did the DAP assist with relocation costs? Re: settlers run botanic ridge 613Oct 31, 2012 8:19 pm Mad Dog, I'm pretty sure that the DAP have nothing to do with your crossover as we are extending our crossover and it was all done through Casey Council, which we have to pay for ourselves. Hope this helps! Re: settlers run botanic ridge 614Dec 01, 2012 3:45 pm Hi I'm new to this forum and we are building in settlers . I'm just wondering what sort of issues have people been having with dap. I've been told that they have relocated to Sydney so answers are slower. I'm also wondering if anyone has had a plan approved that encroaches into the the tree planting zone at the rear boundary(4m). our back balcony just overlaps this boundary by about 20cm. I have also been told that they do not want any excavation in this area, which is quite silly considering a tree planting zone would have trees planted in this area after handover. Re: settlers run botanic ridge FINLOW Street 615Jan 02, 2013 4:03 pm Hi , I also wish we had seen this forum before. We've just moved in at number 23 Finlow (Lot 316) after a marathon build. Did anyone else have trouble with Telstra? NBN have confirmed in writing that they have completed stage 15 and services can be connected but Telstra have just cancelled our booking for the second time and insist that NBN are constructing in this street. Any other people on Finlow Street having issues? Re: settlers run botanic ridge FINLOW Street 616Jan 02, 2013 5:12 pm DonnaJade Hi , I also wish we had seen this forum before. Any other people on Finlow Street having issues? Hi DonnaJade, I'm at number 12 Finlow. The NBN is definitely live and ready to go. My neighbour and I have had it for weeks now. Don't bother with Telstra, their NBN plans are way overpriced. We went with Skymesh and haven't had any problems. They give you a free 2 month trial and will price match any other service provider. Re: settlers run botanic ridge 617Jan 02, 2013 5:41 pm Thanks Plonk (love the handle!) That's great advice. (at this point i would like nothing more than to never have to speak to Telstra again!) Did you also get a home phone with Skymesh? Cheers, Donna Re: settlers run botanic ridge 618Jan 02, 2013 6:03 pm DonnaJade Thanks Plonk (love the handle!) That's great advice. Got home phone with Skymesh too, was all part of their package, had no problems with it at all. Who was your builder Donna? Re: settlers run botanic ridge 620Jan 02, 2013 6:28 pm Hi Donna! We're your across the road neighbours and had NBN out on 31/12 and its all ready to go except for the fact that our builder has put in cat 5 cabling instead of fibre cable so he now has to come back after our builder and electrician do work they should have done at frame stage! 7 6255 I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 7551 |
