Browse Forums Building A New House Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 342Jun 12, 2011 11:27 am Really like your design and love the fireplace Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 343Jun 12, 2011 11:37 am Is anyone else building on a corner block? If so, do you understand the fencing rules? we can only fence 40% of the lot on the secondary frontage that doesnt cover the alfresco. Can we have a second fence in from the boundary? Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 344Jun 13, 2011 4:32 pm Sure is very nice jbarnard. Love the fireplace. Nice to snuggle up with a good book on a cold and blustering day. Love your view of the golf course. Not many trees to block your view. We have purchased Lot 344 in Limeburner Close in the new Norman precinct. Our block backs onto the 3rd fairway. There are heaps of trees and shrubs that block a lot of our view. I hope they clear some of them or hope the gum trees will grow tall really quickly. Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 345Jun 14, 2011 1:38 pm Lets see how this goes... I have tried to attached floorplans. It is three bedrooms but given the lounge, living room and rumpus room downstairs, and large rumpus room upstairs... once the kids are old enough to use the upstairs rumpus room and walk the stairs nicely, we will turn the rumpus into the 4th bedroom. Our build has started. but the 28mm of rain this month have halted our progress... We have a few trees too. We have a nice gap where the balcony will be so we are happy about that. We were hoping one or two trees would go also. I know they have removed alot of the supports around the trees and have completed holes 1 to 4 (based on the minutes taking from last meeting). I was hoping they would remove some trees but they just seem to be removing the growth supports... Fingers crossed! JB, love your view. I saw your house the other day and love the raised back. Site costs must have been a killer. The floor plan looks great! Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 348Jun 14, 2011 2:32 pm Thanx BigE. Love your floorplan too. It's going to be huge!!! What's the overall size? I now recognize your site. You're the one with the swimming pool in the garage Saw it on the weekend!!! Our site costs weren't that bad. (I think) Is $20k a lot? They had to put in 61 piers. It's our first building project in Australia so I'm not too sure. My new neighbour (to our right) says his site costs are gonna be close to $50k!!! That's freaking insane!!!!! Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 349Jun 14, 2011 2:34 pm BigE you've changed the upstairs quite a lot from the original (Kush?) Looks great You need to get some buckets and start shifting the water Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 350Jun 14, 2011 2:59 pm JB, 20K wow that is great! ours was 15k... I was expecting yours to be close to 50k. The overal size is about 37sq big enough but not massive. It is a shame about the swimming pool. The little one want to go down to the "lake" it is no longer the block. He wasnt to happy the other day when he wasnt allowed to swim in it. LTH, Thanks... Yeah we changed the kush005 upstairs to open the back part up and suit a balcony. We moved the bathroom into where the other bedroom was and made the bedrooms bigger. We also changed downstairs. We flipped the back half (after the garage and lounge. This was to accomidate the north facing aspects... We are happy but pitty about the rain Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 351Jun 16, 2011 8:47 pm These 3 plans are where we are at... sold on any of them but we do have ideas on how to re-jig them just thought i would share them with u guys: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think we like the 3rd one the most but would like to see the theater and master bedroom arrangement flipped so the theater is where the ensuit is located and the pdr room at the front needs to have a vanity in it. there is also room to make the house smaller and make the family room bigger so i can fit my pool table in.. But any way what is every ones thoughts here? Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 352Jun 16, 2011 11:38 pm I agree plan 3 is the better plan. And definitely change master bedroom configuration the same as plan 2. thats a massive garage. Re: settlers run, botanic ridge 353Jun 17, 2011 10:14 am Lindberg Sure is very nice jbarnard.
