Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 11, 2010 10:53 pm Hello.. my first ever post, only found this site today and our first time building. Anyways. We had our final inspection last week.. and noticed that the wrong shower head had been fitted in the kids bathroom. When we told our building manager it wasn't the one we wanted... he looked at our addenda.. or whatever it's called and he said "that's the one that is written in your selections" So we wanted the ..... "rail" shower head.. and they installed the ...... "bracket" shower head. And because we didn't pick it up... it's tough luck. Yes, ok we over looked it... but bracket and rail are very similar in wording. You get your pre-start selections.. how many weeks after the fact. So we thought it was right. We have spent over $270,000 on this house... and they wont change it... Is there anything we can do? or do we just have to suck it up? What would you do in our situation? We picked the rail.. purely for it to make showering the kids easier.. so the shower head could be adjusted to their height... and not 6 odd foot up the wall. this is the one we wanted... http://www.dorf.com.au/product-ranges/showers/conceda/conceda-rail-shower And this is the one we got.. http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k10/XAVIERnZAHLI/IMG_2361.jpg So definately different. Thank you Re: Final inspection & noticed they fitted the wrong shower 2Dec 12, 2010 6:57 am Legally the answer is you have got to suck it in. If you want something different you really need to quote the exact model No, not just a name, and get that written into the contract specification. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! But looks like you'd be able to change to the rail type without seeing a hole. Its nothing major, if thats your biggest problem with the build then dont worry. Don't beat yourself up too much, it is almost impossible not to overlook things when you're checking the final plans and contract. dragonflychic But looks like you'd be able to change to the rail type without seeing a hole. There are shower rails you can buy that attach directly to existing overhead shower connections. This thread has a few listed.
