Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 09, 2010 11:23 am Hi all, Our house is/was due to be ready by Xmas. 2 days ago we noticed a wet patch on slab under an internal wall in the adjoining rooms. The wall and ceilings in both rooms don't look like they've been affected so wondering if there could be a leak in the slab...builder will investigate today but thinking if any H1er's could tell me? Photos below (i hope!!) http://img697.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=08122010223.jpg BB Re: Leak under slab? 3Dec 09, 2010 12:01 pm Thanks for the reply... The wall is an internal wall between two rooms (lounge & family), but meets the external wall that runs across the two rooms. Couldn't see any other signs of dampness anywhere in house. Thx BB Re: Leak under slab? 4Dec 09, 2010 6:43 pm Is there plumbing in that wall cavity? Check the roof cavity as well. We had a larger damp patch then yours caused by rain getting in through a roof penetration that was not sealed correctly (our rangehood was ducted externally). The rain ran down the ductwork/pip, pooled in a bulkhead and then ran down the wall cavity. If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 16203 Hi all, I am hoping someone has some ideas as to what is causing my bathroom leak. The leaking appears to mainly happen when we turn the sink basins on. It takes a while… 0 4014 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you doing this with a building permit?
