a few paper work issue held us up the last few weeks.
I sometimes want to strangle the council staff! while they approved of the setback and extra garage width, they made a typo on the letter indicating that the front eaves were to be no larger then 550mm while they also stamped the plans where the eaves were 600mm. Figured it was a typo, but when i rang them to correct, they were so defensive stating they would never make a mistake ... geez it's a typo... get over it!!!!
With that sorted the last two days have seen some action on the site with excavation occurring to level the build area. As you can see from the pics, our area is full of clay!!! hopefully i don't get too much rain in the next week turning my block into a shallow swimming pool!!

Also finally got in touch with the SS, Rob who is going through the plan with me next week. hopefully, he looks the other way while i swindle my way with the Sparkie to get some work done off the books! Anyone here dealt with a SS called Rob in the SE areas? Hopefully he likes his beers or bourbon or whatever!!
We did recently go past a Hartley being built nearby and when we spoke to the neighbor he had nothing but good things to say. "most efficient and hardworking tradies he's seen. (hope i get the same guys!)
Here's fingers cross for a semi good weather next week so i can get the slab underway!!
