Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Would you install an external gas BBQ point? 21Apr 24, 2011 10:31 pm We put in a natural gas point in for our bbq on out back deck area, we love never have to worry if we have enough gas for the bbq, can't remember what the cost of the extra point was but it must not have been much, We brought a new bbq from Bunnings that could be converted to natural gas the kit cost about $90 and about $200 for the gas fitter install the kit. I find the heat from the natural gas is a lot better than from the lpg, also I think you use less gas. (we barbeque a lot) We put it in the alfresco in a cupboard where we will have a built in barbie eventually, but it can also be handy for running patio heaters too Re: Would you install an external gas BBQ point? 23Apr 25, 2011 10:52 am We had one put out the the Alfresco area from our stove at a cost of around $165. We will be using bottled gas for our stove though even though there is a mains gas supply available as I think it is not worth paying for monthly account and access fees before you have even used any. Bit like water where you pay the monthly access charge and associated costs before you have even used a drop. I would use that in a bottle if I could too and pay a one off to top up as and when needed. Bought in Nov 21 at the height of the market (classic). Good area, atrocious floor plan. BUT has land out to the left-hand side that we can extend out on (see second… 0 8765 Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
