Browse Forums Building A New House Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 181Aug 05, 2011 5:36 pm WOW looks good.Had a look at very cashmere colour at bunnings I think I would have to go 1/4 strengh I have verandras. How long before you move What company is your vinyl from Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 182Aug 05, 2011 6:42 pm I was thinking that pic of the piano light close up is probably a good indication, what do you think? Does that look like what you saw? In real life its not a lemon yellow, its more flat but it does come up brighter on the walls. We have handover booked for the 18th so not long now. Packing packing packing. The vinyl is from carpetone. Oh and I spoke to the Tiler today, he was apologetic about the tiles he missed. Said he can't believe he did that! To be honest when I first saw it I didn't notice it. Then when I did notice it I thought oh its not that big a deal. But then every time I saw the pic or was at the house I'd see it! So then I heard he was coming back for something else so I thought I would let them know about it. It's not that big a deal to fix by the sounds. Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 183Aug 05, 2011 7:01 pm Sound like you have had good tradies yes I would say pic with piano light and first pic of kitchen pendant also had a look at white birch it was a 1992 colour, shows classic never date.Wow 18th lucky you, what is colour from carpetone have not heard of that company. Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 184Aug 05, 2011 7:33 pm Actually I just picked up a sample of the carpet yesterday to double check I made the right choice as I got nervous It's called, Taupe. It's a SDN. The color is a dark grey. I don't think it looks at all like the color I thought Taupe was! Weird. Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 185Aug 05, 2011 7:39 pm Sorry I was asking about vinyl planks,I like taupe Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 186Aug 05, 2011 9:08 pm Ooops sorry! The vinyl is also from the same place and its called Roughsawn Oak from Rhino Elements. I have a pic from early on in the thread I think... yep here it is. First of all, we now have a rainwater tank, hot water service, running water, electricity, tapware, showers, shower screens, toilets, wardrobe vinyl sliders for office, laundry and garage and carpet. I'm very happy with a lot of it, although my list of hmm not sure about that is growing so must start making notes about that as we will inspect this week as handover is set for thursday at this point. List is as follows - Looks unfinished where weatherboards meet slab on front verandah, needs painting or something. Grout missing in laundry on one of the skirts meeting the arch Paint on sides of archs should be gloss and all one color Back of front door has black paint spreading onto the white side Scratch on bench top inside right hand side glass cabinet Kitchen sink tap is kinda unstable, not sure if its just the tap I chose but it seems a little too flimsy Dent/nick in bedroom 4 door Water tank has a big gap behind it, seems silly to me. Wouldn't you put it as close to the house as possible? Check painter has painted around added tiles in main bathroom Also we got a call last wednesday while I was interstate to say that our vinyl isn't in and looks to be taking its time even though it was scheduled to be laid this monday... Can we choose another one!?!? Umm wasn't too happy about that phone call. Anyway it turned out to be in my best interest as I got to choose another, luckily one that I love just as much as the first one but I didn't choose it because it came in a thin plank and not the wide plank that I was wanting. However they discovered the commerical range has not only a wide plank in the same color but an even wider one (by 2cm) than the normal residential width planks and slightly longer. Which sounds fantastic to me. I'm super happy about it, its not quite as red as the initial plank I chose but this is a good thing I think. Can't wait to see it laid. Might go early tomorrow and make sure its all good. Course we now are getting a commercial quality product in the house at no extra cost. Can't complain about that. Will be back tomorrow with pics. Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 189Aug 15, 2011 7:03 am great job!!!!! cant wait to see it all coming together..whaooaoa Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 190Aug 15, 2011 7:50 am I love both those timbers! I think that vinyl is very similar to what's used in Rivers shops ... very nice!! Where will the lighter timber go, I love it, looks like oak??? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: CheerupCharlie's house - Light fittings and driveway pi 191Aug 15, 2011 9:37 am I went over to the house this morning and it looks like I was mistaken, they ended up getting the original color I wanted which is roughsawn oak which I still love luckily, but its in the wide plank. So I guess wires crossed somewhere there and we've still got a floor we love and its a commercial product so very happy. So will go back around lunch time to get some vinyl plank pictures. Thanks tinkster, getting exciting for you now that you have your slab hey? I hope they get a move on and get those bricks up pronto so you can relax a bit. Hi Kiwi, you and me both. Lex, hmm never noticed the floors in rivers then again I havn't been in there in ages... I have been doing more house shopping rather than clothes shopping. LOL. The lighter timber you see is American oak and that's what is on the island bench. Its probably been easy to miss in most photos I've put up because its still covered in bubble wrap. It's really beautiful in real life Ok some pics for you... So some are with flash and some without. The bobcat was there smoothing out the front and back debris. I think the only things left to happen is the walk through, which is wed morning, the door stops and the servery window bench has to be installed. And of course any corrections that come up from the walk through. Can't think of anything else.
