Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 02, 2010 7:38 pm So, December site start, it's now December so start already! They would, but the council have a very strange request, this is what we've been told via message "At present, we are ready to go but we are awaiting the final approval from your council who are proving extremely difficult. Due to your extra garage we have had to apply for dispensation which is generally quite a standard application. In this circumstance, which we have not before come across, the council want neighbours comments from your neighbours ACROSS THE ROAD. We have tried to avoid this with the council and have sought the advice of other building surveyors and unfortunately if the council request it, it has to be done. That being the case, the documents to the owners across the road have been sent today and will have 14 days to respond. It is at the end of this period, that the council can formally approve the build." Now, the really strange bit about this is we don't have any neighbours across the road who will see our garage (or comment on it), unless you count the Metro train line and the possums who sit in the trees along the train line Something tells me the trains and the possums won't really care I'm also wondering where "the documents" have been sent to??
