Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 44Jul 07, 2011 2:47 pm Just wondering how your place is going? I'm thinking you must be bricked up by now. Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 45Jul 07, 2011 3:04 pm Not quite finished Bricking yet, very close though, should be all finished by Friday (fingers crossed) Has taken them 2 weeks to do. Roof is tiled. And yesterday we had the electrician coming and install all the wiring, also Aircon guys came in and put the vent tubing in the roof. Really really reallyyyyyyy hope insulation & plaster board guys come early next week Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 46Jul 07, 2011 3:38 pm Wife just texted me... apparently Gyprock and Insulation has just been dropped off the house is looking like a house. Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 47Jul 07, 2011 3:40 pm It's nice when a house looks like a house!! Know the feeling ... For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 48Jul 07, 2011 3:48 pm wait.. Insulation is installed, not just delivered Yeah, Frame wasn't enough for me, but now that the front is bricked and all the walls are. you go inside and you're enclosed but it makes it feel bigger and most of all REAL!!!! Now bring on render and sandstone for the front of the house Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 49Jul 07, 2011 4:04 pm Wow! That didn't take long for the insulation to go in. That's so exciting that your gyprock has arrived. You'll be able to get a better idea of the room sizes. 2 weeks to brick! I thought it'd take just 1. I'll just have to lower my expectations with the bricking I guess. I thought my bricking was coming along so slowly but maybe it's not so slow after all! It's taken 3.5 days to do the garage walls but it has been raining a lot at the same time. Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 50Jul 07, 2011 4:37 pm 1stbuild went past your place today and was excited to see your insullation in. Things are starting to move. post some pics when you can Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 51Jul 20, 2011 11:02 am Hi All More pics. Gyprock is up (but not patched etc) Bricking is finally complete after 3 weeks, and receiving an invoice for it 1 week before it was finished. Can't to see the front of my place with sandstone and render quoins, but may be waiting a while for that. No one has been on site this week. So fingers crossed the gyprock guys come back and finish this week so we can move along to lock up. Neighbours house is gunning along, as we had frame before them, and now they are at lock up and their kitchen was being installed Monday getting some serious neighbour/build envy. Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 53Jul 20, 2011 8:37 pm Your house is looking great. Feels like my build is taking ages as well. I'm into my third week of watching bricking and I'm getting a little bored Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 54Jul 22, 2011 10:31 am yeah we got very bored of watching bricks lol. Are expected completion is 18th of October.. already beginning to feel doubtful. It's just amazing how quickly things can get done when they want to. Like we had a 2 day period 2 weeks ago where BAM!!! Bricks complete, insulation in, aircon unit and tubing in the roof and gyprock on. Then this week, not a single visitor.. Ours has been exactly the same, it's pretty normal Our scheduled completion date is about a week or two before that date (edit.. oops ours is September now that I read it properly...), however one of the tradies told us that from when the cornices go up it's normally a month away from handover. Fingers crossed everything goes to that plan Can't believe I haven't been following your thread Your place is looking fantastic Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 56Aug 02, 2011 3:02 pm Thanks Vortex You guys would be itching to get into yours by now. I'm sure your looking forward to using that massive garage as well. Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 58Aug 03, 2011 3:21 pm Simp Looks like the wheels are turning again B. Sounded like the '2nd fix' was underway this morning. Not long now. Thank goodness for that S. They seem to only work on my house about 2 days a week. They seem to spend Monday & Tuesday on the show homes.. Wednesday & Thursday at mine ... and then Friday at the pub. We're officially over building now. The novelty has well and truely worn off Just a quick question on peoples thoughts. We paid in our build contract $350 for 3-phase power. But we just got a bill from ETSA for $283 for 3-phase power connection. Our builder has stated that they are responsible for all connection costs. I'm probably going to sound dumb by saying this, but would I assume this bill should be given to my builder. I'm not really keen on paying for 3-phase power twice. Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 59Aug 03, 2011 4:51 pm OMG! I'm feeling mighty ripped off! I have an allowance of $850 for 3 phase power that was added at the final interview. What's with that??? Hope I don't get another separate bill from ETSA on top!! I don't know the answer 1stbuild. I'd be checking with Fairmont. Wouldn't hurt to try Re: 1st Build - Field River Estate - Long Awaited Update pg2 60Aug 03, 2011 4:57 pm Just did a search and found this thread...looks like you'll have to pay. http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36654&p=538156&hilit=etsa+3+phase+power#p538156 Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3299 Hi there, We’ve recently had plans approved to add a 1st storey addition to our existing house for a growing family in Sydney. With the current cost of building… 0 4306 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34274 |
