Our build is going to start possibly April, so we would be lucky to have te roof on before winter. This could cause an extra month, at a guess? We're off to Europe in Sept. Re: (WA) BCJ 1st Build. Perth Impressions - Aspire With Plan 23Jan 31, 2011 5:44 pm Loved reading your thread! Plan looks good And I think I can hazzard a guess as to where your block is! lol Re: (WA) BCJ 1st Build. Perth Impressions - Aspire With Plan 24Feb 07, 2011 11:42 am Just a quick update. Working drawings are getting done this week! Off to shire by the start of next week, aparently. STILL thinking we should extend the alfreso a little further.... At the moment it is 4.6 x 4.8 - excluding eaves.... Do you feel this is big enough? Eventually we want an outdoor kitchen along one side, effectively making the working space 3.6 x 4.8 inc. BBQ/Oven/Sink etc... I just don't want to regret an extra half a meter, to make working space 4.2x4.8 after kitchen, or 5.2x4.8 before... *shrugs* The great debate now is flooring. Carpets in Theatre, study, and bedrooms - thats locked away. For main living, however... Solid Bamboo from Bamboozle is affordable, but a PAIN to lay. Click lock is possibly not as durable, slightly cheaper, and A BUNCH easier to put down as a floating floor... Do you think the "cons" with floating floors are really cons? "hollow sound, bounces under foot a little," etc etc... Personally, I think the bounce, or the softer option is possibly better? Your thoughts? I look forward to being able to show completed drawings hopefully this time next week! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46664 Building in Baldivis, Western Australia. First home, with Impressions. Perth Impressions - Aspire With Plan 25Mar 31, 2011 1:21 pm Hi, I have just been reading your posts - very interesting My partner and i have just signed up to build the Soto with Impressions. can i ask how your journey with them has been? any tips? thanks Re: (WA) BCJ 1st Build. Perth Impressions - Aspire With Plan 26Mar 31, 2011 2:18 pm Hey guys, Just found your thread. I really liked the Soto design when we walked through it in Piara Waters. We ended up deciding between Impression and New Gen. We ended up choosing New Generation Homes. My partner and I are both in our early 20's as well so i know what you guys are going through. Really like your plan and looking forward to following your build. Re: (WA) BCJ 1st Build. Perth Impressions - Aspire With Plan 27Mar 31, 2011 2:49 pm [quote="BCJ"]Just a quick update. I agree that I like the softer/bounce feel rather than the hardness of direct stick, and its a lot kinder on your back when you're standing on it for a long time. That's the only thing I like about click lock floating floors though. In our last house we put in click lock laminated flooring and I HATED it. It was so NOISY (and I can't emphasis house noisy it was!!!!). I dropped a 20c piece on the floor in the kitchen and it woke my baby in her nursery on the other side of the house. If you have young children it's incredilbly noisy when they're playing on it with their toys, to the point where you can't have a conversation over the top of it. We had even upgraded to a better quality underlay as the salesman said it could be noisy but it didn't help. Just something to keep in mind, especially if you're planning on having babies in the future.
