Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 14, 2010 8:56 am Hi all, I 've been searching everywhere to find out the avarage cost to these two requirements, could not find much. My block of land is affected by salinity most likely and builder has included " Your attention is drawn to the 'Building in Salinity Prone Environment' policy bu council"-$3740...I thought this can vary depending on the level of salinity effect (low, moderate, high etc..) and what extra things need to be done depending on this. Did anyone have this in their quote or knows more about this? Also have this cost: 'Provide PVC downpipes % upgrade stormwater to 100mm (sewer grade) for chaarged downpipe system. Provide aboveground slimline water thank on a concrete slab. Flush out point is provided before the tank. Recycled water will be to toilets, washing machine and one external tap. No allowance for tunnel or rubble trench for overflow. $7990-THIS SEEMS A BIT HIGH-What do you think?? To connect tank overflow from tank water to rear inter-allotment drainage. $1660??? Can anyone help with tha above. What was your quote for these if yoy had something similar. We've also got to comply with higher wind ratings in our location as well. Edited to add: Originally we were quoted $5,600 for a round 5000l tank, on concrete slab with the automatic switch to mains water when it gets below a certain level. I thought it was a bit high so I said we'd supply our own tank and the price went down to $4,800 ... so I gather they quote all the pipe work in that as well. My overflow to stormwater was extra as well, can't remember what it is sorry. In the end we have gone with 2 x 10,000 round tanks on a boxed sand pad and it's around $8,500. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ 18 90481 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair But if it is a ground level open pit, then it is not a charged system.
