==> they only do packages for $1000+ including multiple inspections...
I don't think thats correct unless it's different in SA. It was cheaper to buy numerous inspections but I think it was around $450 per inspection. I'm paying about $2400 for 6 inspections.
You are right, my apology if this causes any confusion. I confirmed with my wife, what she said is they charge around $450-$500 per report, but the person she spoke to was pushing very hard for "package deal" which covers lots of reports and that's not what we after...
Got my building inspector on site yesterday, armed with a camera, a recorder, wearing a light green vest and a well decorated little van. He checked every corner quite carefully, picked up a few issues, nothing major and he was quite happy with the quality AllCastle provided and sent us the report last night. So, at least we are a bit relieved.
A few issues he picked up:
- 2 x air con pipe not sealed properly
- problem with roof tiles above front bay window
- 2 floor areas upstair got some noises when you stepped on, reckon caused by floor board or frame not fitted properly
After he left, I did some further checking myself (while the cabling guy is busy installing my network+speaker+TV+telephone cables...) and found that the area under the roof tiles he mentioned, including front porch & internal wall of front bay window, both have signs of leaking from the roof. I pointed out to the supervisor and he agreed to get it fixed later.
