Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 13, 2010 7:25 pm My building contract only mentions my inspection at the "completetion of works" however, we are approaching lock-up and some friends advised us to get this stage inspected by an independant inspector. Can I request this from the builder if the contrsct does not mention it? Considering it is the biggest progress payment and probably the best time to pick up major defects before continuing. If you want to get it done, by all means do so, just tell your builder...don't ask! Best to look into it ASAP, as inspectors can be pretty busy.
