Long time no chat Thanks for commenting on our house, yes it really feels like its finally our time, although the 3 weeks feels forever away. First walk through on Friday then PCI NEXT WEEK!! I hope the bank gets its act together before xmas - I'm sure they will and we can have our white christmas tree up as we dreamed... As for our garage door its cedar colorgrain, but we went with taubmans dark stain on the door and batten, which is too dark for it. It would match coaba down very well. We knew we should have gone with medium stain but we trusted our colour consultant.. At least when it fades it will match lol.. Hope your colours picking are going well - have you done them yet? carlswil thanks for the pics. Your driveway looks gorgeous, I love it. Your house is looking fantastic. Love the kitchen. WOW, 3 weeks and you could be in, that is fantastic news. Thanks Carlswil - your house is looking great too - you mustn't be far along yourself. Thanks for the compliments we have been side by side with our builds lol.. brb_654 Wow your facade is stunning and driveway looks fantastic!! Your kitchen looks devine, you must be so excited, not long now at all Thanks Barb, really appreciate it. It's such a dream to see it all in!! But to move in will just be pure bliss. Barb sounds so lovely!! I bet the tree will look pretty! The walk through went well and our SS was really thorough (I wasn't there but DH was) and our SS said he's getting a third coat of paint done due to fingerprints from the workmen etc (3rd coat was an upgrade so that's good). And he was so thorough and noticed more things than we did (I thought I'd found everything!) ALSO OUR TEMPORARY FENCES ARE GONE... The soap holders have been removed and they are putting the silver ones on The tiler has properly grouted everything so its looking beautiful now And PCI next week.. We are calling Masterton on Monday to say please finalise everything so we can be in before Christmas. SS said they'll probably want to get us in before then anyway.. We get mesh screens in our tender (fly screens) due to bushfire requirements.. So SS said he'll look into that. And as for carpet they are meant to call us and ask when we want it done? And our appliances when we move in. Mirrors, shelves and shower screens this week Plantation shutters have been ordered, and ducted air is going to be put in before Christmas YAY 1st Tender - 20 March 2010 Slab - 14 August 2010 Frames - 31 August 2010 Roof - 11 September 2010 Bricks finished - 2 October 2010 Lock up - 15 October 2010 Keys - 10 December 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shower screens are in now!! Apparently the walk through was PCI but because there are some minor things to fix, we have to sign off on it and do a final walk through. We have our PCI invoice and asked for our final invoice as well so we can book in settlement date! We are paying them both today and we are awaiting our interim occupation certificate from Masterton. YAY - Not long now, and on Monday we are giving our real estate our 2 weeks notice. I think we'll the weekend of 17 December is realistic, and our appliances booked for the Monday or something. Sooo happy but just hoping all continues to go smoothly Carpet and rollerdoor, appliances etc all to be done on the settlement date. So - how long has your build taken then? Was getting the interim certificate much problem? Congratulations again B!!! So happy for you... T ps: can you believe it, we finally lodged with Council last Friday! (Cut off to avoid extended neighbour notification to 31 Jan was 4pm Friday, and the receipt we were sent was stamped 4.16pm. Loretta - Yes it will be the most fab feeling handing in that notice!! But then, we went there Thurs night and still nothing done I think the mirrors and shelves are awaiting the final painters coat. That's the hold up I'd say. So hopefully we aren't booting ourselves out too shortly. T - That's excellent you've lodged with council!! That shouldn't take too long hopefully!! Mine only took 1 week. But your house is bigger and custom made so you just don't know. But congrats!! Yes our build has gone pretty quickly. Earth movement started early August so its only been 4 months. And as for interim occupation - its something Masterton organises (your CC organises with your SS) so you just ring them occasionally to get it. We are getting fly screens and now shower screens are done so there shouldn't be much of a wait. Hopefully no owner obligations before getting it!! (fingers crossed). Now we are trying to secure a fence guy before christmas due to our beloved hound.. and ducted air is booked!! Removalist is booked!! Hopefully it all comes together perfectly... Will keep you posted!! P.S our shower screens look great they are semi frameless and our big shower was the only one I could see, but I'm just so in love!! P.P.S We made some purchases............ A beautiful sofa (we went in and designed ourselves at Plush Sofas) ..have to wait 14 weeks though And a dining table and chairs!
