Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 21Nov 19, 2010 12:26 pm Hey lot 306. Thats fantastic. UE have been great (except for tender) but otherwise fantastic! Which house are you building? I know they are very flexible and let you customize, which is what we loved. Considering we are based on the ancona 002 and our floor plan looks nothing like it. We also loved that their houses were not your stock standard floor plans. How far along in the process are you? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 22Nov 19, 2010 12:35 pm http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1 ... 1193997474 ours is the Yoki 001 but customized!! we have had our tender and done the contracts now we are just waiting for the land what happend at the tender??? Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 23Nov 19, 2010 1:07 pm I'm liking the floor plan. The Yoki has been popular. A lot people we have spoken to are building that one. How long until the land is ready do they think? I hope it's not to long for you guys. Oh tender - it was a huge balls up. We ended up walking from UE because they wanted to charge us crazy site costs and then they came back to the party and met our budget. It's a long winded story and if you want to read it's in my blog and it's the very first post I did. But apart from that we have been really happy and could not fault them one bit. We did a lot of research and everyone said the quilty of build and supplies with UE are next to none. We also spoke to a number of people who were building or just finsihed building with them and they have been really happy! Only minor things that needed fixing and UE fixed them straight away. So along with the floorplan that is why we went with them. I think they are really good on price too. I'm so glad we found someone else building with UE. Have you found a lot of people haven't heard of them? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 24Nov 19, 2010 2:15 pm yer they did the same with us they want to charge us $20k for 1mt off fall!!! but they said its only an "allowance" and if they dont use it all we get it back (im not holding my breth) they way we found out about them was thru google but every one i have spoken to has never heard off them! whene time came for color selection we where so lucky that we had already picked EVERYTHING (thanks to our friends who is a interior deccorator) as they did not seem to helpfull at the color selection! I also like the fact that they call us every few weeks and just "check in" with us!! the land wont be ready till Jan/Feb 2011 but when we brought the land they told us sept 2010 and when i went there today they have not started the gutters! but hears hoping!! keep us posted on how the build goes!! Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 25Nov 23, 2010 6:00 am We have a big fat slab and loving it!! Still in shock how high we are but it looks fantastic and gives us the best views. So glad we stuck to our guns and got them to fill not cut. Maybe a $1 hey...lol. At least they are saying you might get some back. They told us $26k and you still need retaining walls no talk of getting any back they were going to use every cent and more. Anyway I think we had a win we stuck to our guns and our block is looking fantastic and I love that we didn't have to pay through the roof to get it. My partner felt the same way about the colour selection that they weren't very helpful. I didn't find it to bad but I guess because we had already discussed what colours we were going for and their limited selection it made it easy to choose. I must say that though they had very little to choose from. Kind of glad though b/c I'd still be there choosing. Can't wait to see you yoki coming to life. You are going to love it. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 27Nov 24, 2010 6:01 am We got a very special delivery yesterday. I can't believe how fast they put these things up. I must admit though I feel like it has been forever in a day to get the bricks which we are still waiting for, but I think it feels likes that because I'm dying to see the colour in mass. Where about's are you building? How did you go with the site costs for UE? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40976 Aug 26/10 -Land settle Oct 1-Signed UE Nov 4 -Site Cut 22 -Slab 26 -Frame Dec 17 -Lock Up Feb 1/11 -Fixing Mar 31+Apr 14 -PCI cancelled Re: Kate & Dean - Urbanedge Build - Bacchus Marsh 36Dec 06, 2010 10:21 pm Over the past week we have seen the frame finished and the guttering added along with the roof tile 3/4's done along with the gas and piping done today. Also is all the wiring normally installed before the plaster goes up for power points etc later one? We feel that the wiring for the lights and power points are in wrong, but I've been told that I'm stressing and that I should just let them build the house. I was told the rough in's aren't complete. I wish I knew what the rough ins are???!!! Maybe then I would know if they are right or wrong. It makes me wonder why you wouldn't put all the wire in before you put the plaster up, but then again I'm not a builder. We did email about the power points to both the SS and our CSL but have had no response if they are right or wrong. Would be nice to have some more communication.
