Alucabond, Alutile and Vitrabond. thanks Re: Alucabond/Alutile/Vitrabond 2Nov 11, 2010 1:28 pm Alucobond is an architectural panel made basically of thin sheets of aluminium either side of a polyethelene plastic. Can be cut and bent into various shapes and frequently used for panelling on external faces of buildings. It is basically a rip of of Alpolic which I think was invented by Mitsubishi in Japan and now there are numerous other cheaper versions including some very suspect ones from China. Re: Alucabond/Alutile/Vitrabond 3Nov 11, 2010 6:08 pm Thanks for the reply. would you know whether Alutile or Vitrabond are cheap imitations? Re: Alucabond/Alutile/Vitrabond 4Nov 12, 2010 1:57 pm Yep - just googled them and they are essentially the same thing. Alpolic is the original and probably best. Alucobond is a close 2nd and I would check the origins of all other variants, depending on what the intended use is. Re: Alucabond/Alutile/Vitrabond 5Mar 30, 2011 7:02 pm Did you find out anymore about these products? Also considering them in Sydney, though not sure of the extra cost outweighs the cost of Scyon Cladding. However, I think the finish is better on these aluminium composite products. Re: Alucabond/Alutile/Vitrabond 6Jul 31, 2015 3:26 pm Hello Don, do you still have a need for Aluminium Composite Cladding? Re: Alucabond/Alutile/Vitrabond 7Jul 31, 2015 3:38 pm Sure could well do, have a building project coming up and have a section where I am tossing up whether to render on blue board or use some sort of cladding. I have seen some nice architectural finishes with metal cladding products but I wonder what the cost comparison is like? |
