Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 09, 2010 7:58 am Hi there Newbie here who loves to read the progress threads, so thought I would start my own. We are currently building our home, after selling our house in May. My family (myself, hubby and 3 under 5!) are currently living with my parents while we build - it's a hectic household for sure! My FIL is the builder so we are getting a fab deal which is very handy now we are just on 1 income. So we planned to build in the Gungahlin area in the ACT. We didn't realise how long we had to wait to start building, mostly 6 months down the track! Luckily we found a lovely corner block (588m2) in Casey which had just fallen through the day before - so we nabbed it! We could start building in 3 months - perfect. So off we go to get our finances sorted and headed to the architect. Our 'wants' were: 4 bed, ensuite, walk-in pantry, fireplace and split level if possible. As our block is on a slant we got our split level no worries! So here we go: Floor Plan: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front Elevation: (slight change, the front windows are now full length) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building our family home in Casey ACT ~ My thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=40898&p=612238#p612238 Sept 10 - slab poured Oct 10 - frame up, bricks up 5-7 Nov 10 - roof tiles on, foam cladding on, bath in 9 Nov 10 - doors/handles going in!
