Glad to hear things went well along the way, we had a call from Coral yesterday saying our plans have gone off to the private certifier and will be in council in 2-3 weeks.. Just hope ours goes as smooth, colour and tile selections over the next week, so stressing a little not knowing what the hell to pick haha.. Definately getting some ideas looking through yours, thanks for all the photos great to see it all come together!! We are going to start moving some boxes into our house on the weekend after we start the big clean .... Do you mean you have to clean your new house? Our cleaner did a really good job at cleaning our house. I always thought they did a rough clean, but we didn't have to do anything. Though, walking on the concrete then onto the charcoal tiles leaves footprints, but that will stop when the flooring is finished. We should have most of the smaller stuff moved in the next couple of days. Hubby has hired a truck on saturday to move the big stuff. I won't be able to help becaus eI am working (what a shame ). Our first night in our house will be Saturday night, though we won't have the carpet in. Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 669Sep 01, 2011 10:06 am It's pretty dusty as there was a lot of last minute painting done and we have some more work to be done early next week which will mean more mess. I noticed that when I pulled the pot drawers out there was a lot of mess at the bottom of the cupboards and it's never properly clean unless you do it yourself is it? Enjoy your first night in your new home - it will be awesome!! Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 670Sep 04, 2011 8:49 pm How is ur house going tam? Did it take long to get the phone connected etc as it looks like you have the internet. When we rented they said we could get the phone on on the tuesday while moving in on the friday but tuesday before moving they did it which meant they disconnected us at our own house still. I was so angry but they wouldnt do anything about it typical of telstra cant get anything right. Everything is chucked into the garage until the carpet goes down tomorrow and Tuesday. We are having trouble finding stuff. We thought the kids would have to stay home from school tomorrow because we couldn't find their uniforms. We found everything except for one pair of shoes, so we did ok. Everything is so dusty from the concrete,so I am looking forward to having a good clean. The floor tiles look great. I am happy with how everything is coming together. I will have some pics up on friday, I promise. We will have our carpet and driveway/patio/front porch done by then. And hopefully some blinds. I got up during the night last night to put the cat in his litter box and it took forever to walk down the other end of the house. Who's idea was it to build such a big house Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 672Sep 04, 2011 9:43 pm Bindi77 How is ur house going tam? We haven't got the phone on here and aren't sure whether we will be at this stage. We mainly use our mobiles anyway, so we couldn't justify the cost of a landline at this point in time. In saying that, our mobiles are with optus and I have to walk to the other side of the yard to get reception (if I am lucky). I might have to look at telstra for mobiles. It is so annoying. Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 673Sep 04, 2011 10:41 pm You are flying along! Can't wait to see the carpet and tiles ... it really makes the house once they are in. I'm not going to be too far behind you Well ... a few weeks, but hey, it seems like I'm hot on your heels. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 674Sep 05, 2011 6:23 am Hey did you know you can get this little device from opts to boost your mobile reception at home? I can't remember what it's called, of course it comes at a cost... You might want to look into it. Have fun settling in... Hubby has looked into it, but apparently it only boosts one phone and we have 4 phones in our household lol. Thanks anyway Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 676Sep 05, 2011 6:41 am Well that sucks. You would think technology would allow 4 phones... I am sure you will find a solution. Where we are building there are lots of black spots. Funny enough we get reception at our site. Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 677Sep 05, 2011 7:39 am We are looking at changing to telstra. Funnily enough I can get full reception at a friends house a few streets away. And I work 5 minutes doewn the road on a rural property and I can get reception there too. Just not here. It is so annoying, because no one can get hold of us. Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 678Sep 05, 2011 7:54 am Technology drives us insane sometimes We can't get ADSL at our new place, well, not unless someone disconnects right at the moment when we want to connect as there are only a handful of ports for a new estate. We'll be on wireless and my DH will end up pulling out what little hair he has left So far Optus is looking fine for when I've been parked in the street but what is the bet that will all change once we're trying from inside the house. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Tamara1975 - ITS HANDOVER DAY!!! 679Sep 05, 2011 8:04 am Are you sure that reception booster only works for one phone?? I haven't researched them but I was reasonably sure they could service up to 5 phones. I haven't researched them but I was reasonably sure they could service up to 5 phones. The guy at the optus shop told hubby it only does one phone. I will look into it some more though. Sometimes you can ask 5 different people the same question and get 5 different answers Joe, it depends on your certifier but we are noticing the ones we deal with are really cracking down. So i would recommend you follow your approved landscaping plans to… 4 10972 Hi Simeon, Thank you for laying it down for us. Makes sense. Appreciate it very much. Have a nice day. Cheers 2 9010 |
