Browse Forums Building A New House Re: How often do you visit your site? 182Oct 09, 2011 11:55 am I go there everyday. We are at frame stage and it appears that our builder has arranged for delivery of aluminium doors and windows 3 weeks earlier than required. These are now in open exposed to natural elements. I am concerned that this might cause corrosion or withering. What could or should i do in your opinion. Re: How often do you visit your site? 183Oct 25, 2011 5:17 pm Aluminium doesn't rust - you might have a minor issue with the window and door lock mechanisms but as long as they are taped over or otherwise protected from water getting in then you shouldn't have a problem apart from the windows and doors themselves getting a bit dirty and dusty, but the builder cleans everything before handover anyway so that's not really an issue. Your aluminium windows and doors are designed to be weather proof because they are intended to be exposed to the weather. Even is the locks are a bit of an issue (and it wont be for a long time) then a bit of WD-40 sorts that out quick smart (although you should probably use a more purpose-specific form of lubricant to get the lock turning smoothly)... Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. How often do you visit your site? 184Oct 25, 2011 6:59 pm I'm obsessed with it and go at least twice a day. I live 3 mins away Re: How often do you visit your site? 185Oct 27, 2011 1:10 pm will be all day everyday....literally, as we are building on our acreage, just in the next paddock so to speak Re: How often do you visit your site? 186Oct 27, 2011 3:48 pm I have to laugh at this topic as my husband and I are soooo guilty We live about 10 mins away from our block and still go out to visit at least twice a week, keep in mind nothing has been started yet we just simply can't stay away from it. When my husband is away for work though I keep myself to a strictly saturday morning visit as my daughter complains about being dragged back out there just to see an empty block. It was quite exciting to go out there last saturday as there were other people out mowing their blocks, so we are not the only ones. If there are things we notice (like crack in the ceiling or cornices are not right) do we bring it up now or wait? We don't want to be locked out or have them tell us we are not supposed to be there.
