Even when it was just land, I felt bad if I didn't go, like it was a living thing I wasn't visiting. I had small rocks I collected from our block and washed off, and put them in fruit bowl on my dining room table, so that I was always close to "the land". A. Everyday. I have a mobile webcam setup which connects to a wifi station so I can watch the tradies work. I get a notification when there are any movements on the construction site. That is full on - Do they know its there / have a problem with it? Yes, and the site supervisor is cool with it. Thats awesome Re: How often do you visit your site? 425Jun 07, 2014 11:42 pm I drive past the estate every day at least once. I pull in two or three times a week so I can take photos of the block. We keep getting other builders dumping their sand, concrete, off cuts etc on it, so a photo timeline is keeping them honest. When they protest and say it wasn't them I show them my phone and magic, it gets moved. Shouldn't have to, but I will continue. Stuff them! Now that the slab is down though and we will hopefully see bricks going up I am sure it will be a bit more often Re: How often do you visit your site? 433Jul 08, 2014 4:10 pm It would be a good idea to schedule a time with your builder to conduct site inspections and to ask any questions that you may have of the builder. In most cases I would advise my clients to engage an independent building consultant to inspect each stage upon completion to make sure there are no defects. Good luck and congratulations! LOL --- Re: How often do you visit your site? 437Jul 31, 2014 11:32 am Hi Nina, I built my home with Sekisui House. I had the same excitement as you during the build process and wanted to see all of the progress being done to my home. My fiancé and I would visit the site 2-3 times a week around 5pm when we knew there wouldn't be many (if any) tradies there. We to similar to you lived a distance away but we had the luxury of visiting after work in our car. We would also quite often sneak on site itself (which you are not supposed to do) and have a sticky beak. If there was something that we weren't completely happy with we would call our site supervisor and ask for it to be amended or changed. He was always very helpful. Mind you I have had some friends build with other builders and they have not had such a pleasant experience??? Also we did notice how clean our building site was compared with the other builders in the street. Overall we had a pleasant building experience with Sekisui House and would definitely recommend building with them or will build with them again. I hope this has helped you some??? My neighbours call me and randomly inform me things but to see who is coming and going would be great. Re: How often do you visit your site? 439Aug 02, 2014 12:12 am Between 1 and 3 times per week.
