The duplexes across from you being constructed looks like one of them is going to be our new home. We have just put down a 1k Goodwill Deposit. How have you found the noise from Campbelltown Road?? Have there been any issues with the community/strata? We also have a little one who will love the open space. Re: Our build with Mirvac in Glenfield 64Aug 29, 2012 9:03 pm Welcome Bluejayice Re: noise here is something that i PM'd another home one user that you might find useful I would do the following - Visit the site that you are interested in at either 8am or 6pm in the evening and listen to the noise to see if it is bearable - Confirm with mirvac what sound mitigants they are putting in place as the wooden fence sound barrier on Campbelltown road is pretty inadequate (ie. double glazing, soundproof insulation, etc) - Look at the plans and identify if you would ever need to have the windows open facing Campbelltown road - The 2nd storey is generally where you will get the noise as there is no protection from campbelltown road - Campbelltownn road will only get busier as one of the main arterial roads in the south west growth centre (contingent plans to upgrade to 3 lanes and some point in the future) If you like really like the area but are concerned about the noise then i would consider an existing dwelling as an alternate option as there are a few on the market at comparable prices to new houses. The big plus of this estate is the location - close to main roads, new and aesthetically pleasing, close to the homemaker centre (costco, ikea to come within the next couple of years) Project History Deposit - 20/4/2010 Land Settled - 20/8/2010 Council - 30/9/2010 Slab - 17/11/2010 Bricks - 28/01/2011 Roof - 5/02/2011 Gyprock - 4/03/2011 Re: Our build with Mirvac in Glenfield 65Aug 29, 2012 10:24 pm Thanks for this! I may go down there one evening after work, other times I have been there it seems ok. I love what you have done with your backyard Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17601 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23765 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23894 |
