Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Feedback wanted on a possible house plan 41Oct 31, 2010 7:54 pm I like the other kitchen better, mostly cos it was so huge, but I do like being able to see outside from the ktichen sink, keep an eye on the kidlets while they play etc my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Feedback wanted on a possible house plan 42Oct 31, 2010 8:00 pm Tink- with this last design you can still see to supervise because of the bifolds and windows in the family room area. I do like having a window above the sink myself ( as we are having in this house), but if this build is on a corner block visibility may be better from a kitchen situated this was-especially working at the island bench. BTW-the sectionÍ've adjusted from the study is to add more bench space to the kitchen-would make the study around 2.5 x 4m or so in my estimate... I'm with you sizewise-that's why I reckon adjust the study so that more bench space can be had in the kitchen-could actually have it as an appliance wall..... I did like the big kitchen before, but I like this one better, as I didn't like the idea of walking through the kitchen to the master bed... but that's just personal preference Re: Feedback wanted on a possible house plan 46Nov 01, 2010 8:34 am forgive me, first attempt ever at that paint brush thing! here is mine...would use double doors in study to make it flexible (big room, or 2 small rooms depending on what was happening that day) bigger shower...no need for a door. high window up the top for ventilation and shampoos bi folds or stackers in the alfresco. bench has colouring on it! and the double fridge at the opposite end on garage wall. I dont like the other plan with bed 4 near bed 3 as everyone has that and also a long dark corridor. I like the activity to be light and open and also the guest room away from kids room, just my thoughts though Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I was trying to write 'bench' on the bench and im not good with crayons.. give me a pen and paper any day! Re: Feedback wanted on a possible house plan 47Nov 01, 2010 9:24 am How about merging the store and pantry into a walk through pantry from garage to kitchen? Maybe swap laundry and bed 2, and have laundry accessible through the same area? Thankfully there are always Tim Tams Re: Feedback wanted on a possible house plan 51Nov 01, 2010 8:44 pm sarahw I would look at swapping the WIR and ensuite so you can have more windows and light in the bathroom. The problem there is that the house will more than likely face west/east so if we were to move the ensuite to where the WIR is we'd have trouble with glare from the sun on the mirror! Hi there! Absolutely agree on the wasted space. We have no desire for the master to be that oversized, but it occurred when we increased the depth of the garage. Maybe wider top and bottom plates with 70mm studs to allow the cabinet to be recessed fully 1 6636 |
