Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 29, 2010 3:56 pm Please help. I'm currently trying to decide on my kitchen cupboards and benchtops. Our dining setting is chocolate in colour and I was wondering which laminate would be best suited to match it. None of the samples I have seem to be exact. I was thinking white or near white bench tops and choc coloured cupboards. I have seen some great kitchens in Burnished wood, but the sample of that seems to be more grey than brown??? Would this suit my choc dining suite, or be too big of a difference? The other one I was looking at was Concept Oak. Anyone have any kitchen pics of either of these 2 choices, and who also has chocolate furniture in the same area? Thanks for reading. I do love it from the pictures but am worried that it is more grey/charcoal than brown. What colour would you describe it as being? I realise that my dining setting isn't going to be right beside the kitchen cupboards for comparison, but I don't want the 2 browns to be too different... Re: Show me your Burnished Wood (or similar) kitchens please 5Oct 29, 2010 5:00 pm Burnished wood is more of grey color than a brown and I don't think that would be much of a problem for your dining table. Even i bought a brownish dining table which is going to be placed just beside the kitchen. Below is my dining. Re: Show me your Burnished Wood (or similar) kitchens please 6Oct 29, 2010 5:13 pm We have burnished wood everywhere, with white benchtops. Our dining table is chocolate with white cushions. Don't really think you need to be too exact matching the chocolate colours. I think it will still look good! Your buffet looks identical to mine! Wouldn't be 'Diamond Creek' brand by any chance? Well I think I have decided. Burnished Wood it is! Now to decide on the bench tops..... I think I will go for Diamond Gloss Jeruselum Stone in the laundry, bathroom and ensuite. Would love it in the kitchen too but the cabinent makers have advised against it. I will probably go a white. Thanks guys, you have all been very helpful. The only thing I have left to decide on in the kitchen area is the oven - underbench, free standing or wall oven. .... I'm leaning towards the wall oven as I have a near 2 y.o. and think it will be more practical???? Re: Show me your Burnished Wood (or similar) kitchens please 9Oct 31, 2010 1:08 pm Thanks Kla I thought the pics would give you an idea of how well it goes with chocolate. . .I love the Burnished wood Our buffet is from Instyle furniture. I think the wall oven is the best option, away from your 2 year old & no bending!
