Our Blog: http://porterdavismontague21.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Estuary leopold 82Sep 09, 2012 8:27 pm Congrats....waiting for the titles to be released is a pain in the butt, Because until its released nothing can happen.... It can feel like its never going to happen. The good thing I found about waiting was being able to take my time at choosing colours, I went back 3 times, the first time I came away completely confused, but the second time I made my decisions, and the third time the only change I made was to upgrade the quality of the carpet. You are at the beginning of your building journey, and I am almost at the point where I get possession of my new home All the best, may it all go smoothly for you Re: Estuary leopold 84Sep 18, 2012 4:19 pm JaoAndSam Is anybody from Estuary Stage 8 having issues with Burbank not starting to build? Our land is titled for 9 weeks now and no site cut or slab pouring yet Do you have all your building permits and developer(if required) permits. Our developer approval of our design held Burbank up and it took 11 weeks to start the site scrape. Very quick once you start our roof was completed today 4 weeks since the site was scraped. We are in south east suburbs in VIC. Slab finished 28/08/2012 Re: Estuary leopold 86Sep 24, 2012 9:47 am Update on my less than acceptable retainer wall..... Two doors up from mine, neighbors had a brand new retainer wall put up, I went down there to take photos of it to send off the DFH in an email, saying why doesn't mine look like that???? My site supervisor pulled up while we were there, and he says have you seen your neighbors retaining wall? And I says yeah I have and that's how I want mine to look, And he says well I have good news for you The man that built the new retaining wall is coming to fix the awful one on my block:) So I have been assured that it will be done properly, that's what should have been done in the first place, I believe the contractor who did my wall is no longer a contractor for DFH. Re: Estuary leopold 87Sep 24, 2012 4:44 pm Great news ozie_skip Good on DFH for fixing the problem for u! have u got a pic to put up here so we can look at the good and the bad? Mite be helpful to me as were finding people to do our retaining walls ATM. Hi Nayzv, Today I took possession of my new home Whoohooo!! The retaining wall has been fixed, and looks 100% on the other one. Their definition of a cleaned house ready to move in, and my definition of a clean house and ready to move in are sooooo NOT the same I spent about 4 hrs wiping out every cupboard, draw and shelf, and still didn't get finished..... Okay, we'll yes I'm fussy hahaha! Tomorrow I will get stuck into the laundry, walk in linen press, all the walk in wardrobes, and I will tackle the floor .... Then that will be my version of cleaned and ready to move in The other retaining wall goes in next week, then hopefully the fences will go up, and the concrete man can do his bit I'm really pleased with the house, only thing missing is the plug for the bath. Re: Estuary leopold 91Sep 28, 2012 8:32 pm I got a plug for my bath just the only problem is its too small and doesn't hold the water!!! Congratulations Ozzie_Skip1 and welcome to Estuary Re: Estuary leopold 92Sep 28, 2012 8:41 pm dazandstace I got a plug for my bath just the only problem is its too small and doesn't hold the water!!! Congratulations Ozzie_Skip1 and welcome to Estuary Ahhhahaha so plugs are a problem in the Estate They're getting one for me, no drama, the other 4 plugs for the sinks in the bedroom, bathroom, and powder room are there, just that rather more important one if one is planning on taking a bath is missing Now what happened to the weather???? ..... Skip Re: Estuary leopold 93Sep 29, 2012 11:17 am hhhmmmm those plugs, get u everytime! Congrats ozzie-skip, sounds like so much fun! were settleing next week so xited! as for cleaning.... our loo has an explosion from a gross tradie in it and our SS told me I should be expecting builders cleaners to be perfect! Is he kidding? I have to clean up some strange persons poo off my brand new loo! walk in linen cupboard...Im jealous! enjoy the week! Re: Estuary leopold 97Oct 23, 2012 7:32 am Finally my fences are going up this week, and the driveway and paths go down next week..... Slowly getting there Anyone else get a massive electricity bill?? I haven't even moved into my house, yet my bill is close to $700. Origin Energy said I am using 25kw a day with no variation, I said how is that possible, they said what are you running? I said nothing the house is empty. They said what sort of hot water system do you have? I said Solar with gas backup:) They said Oh???? I said yeah Solar They said hmmm there's something not right. I said yeah I know I'm in a house at the moment with 4 adults, 2 fridges a dishwasher, multiple TVS and computers and we're only using almost 14kw a day. They said its possible the Smart Meter is Faulty. Sheeeeshhh they must think I'm stupid or something hehehehe! I have heard they guesstimate your first bill and credit what you think you should get back from your correct usage It happened to my parents when they built last year theres was $700 too and theres only 2 of them both work fulltime so not even home to use power . Great to here about the driveway and fencing... I cant believe how long it takes to get people to provide services! we booked our fences 4 weeks ago...still waiting, pergola was supposed to happen this week....havnt heard anything.....no concreters are showing up for quotes......frustrating!!!! hopefully something will happen for us this week. Re: Estuary leopold 99Nov 04, 2012 5:01 pm We went to our block today (stage 9) and they've done the footpaths since we were there a couple of weeks ago. The concreter was there measuring out for how much they'll need tomorrow, apparently they're doing all of the crossovers tomorrow and the roads should be finished in the next week or two. He said they've been given a strict deadline of 4 weeks for titles which was exciting to hear as we were expecting mid-December and were thinking that if they went over that we wouldn't hear anything until January due to Christmas break. The parks are coming up great as well. We'll be back in late November, excited to see what they get done by then! Building the Montague 21 by Porter Davis at The Estuary, Leopold.
