Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 21, 2010 9:40 pm Been browsing the forums for a while, Looks to be full of kind and helpful people!, so thought I might finally sign up and post some pics of our "In progress" Arlington.. Pretty far along now.. as you can see. See if anyone notices something different (the mentioned 'twist' ) in the layout over the standard Design.. Or any Clarendon Two story for that matter (far as I'm aware!) A hint is in the 2nd Photo.. if you look outside, and the very right of the picture First Front Photo was taken today.. so Driveway is getting poured tommorow! Construction started back in May 1.. Waiting to be done: Main flooring throughout- Tiles downstairs, Parador and carpet upstairs (wet areas done) Downstairs shower glass fitment (waiting on some sort of edging to come in) Front balcony (glass) Stove and dishwasher install general sealing around wet areas, small touch-ups in and out. Been happy with construction so far.. Just Impatiently waiting for a Handover date. as we were originally told end of october Having to extentend our lease as it's pushing out well into Novemeber now.. but still can't get that final commitment (the latest update given was Nov 15, but I can't rely on it till its made offical!) Seems like its been on the slow side comparied to other houses around.. though I notice fairly lengthy build times on these forums in other states especially I guess not to put too much into estimated finish times, but perhaps it varies from builder to builder.. Re: Our Clarendon Arlington [Brisbane] - with a twist 2Oct 21, 2010 9:50 pm Hi Foodshock.. Very nice looking house! Is the "twist" having the kitchen upstairs or have I completely missed the mark? How many bedrooms? How big is your block? The road to success is always under construction House completed April 2011 - slowly making it a home... Re: Our Clarendon Arlington [Brisbane] - with a twist 3Oct 21, 2010 10:02 pm Thanks Zarli.. Yeah you guessed it haha.. well the Kitchen + familyroom area (which is basically the back 1/3 of the house) is upstairs, opening out toa balcony .. So now the MPR is downstairs with all the bedrooms, except the Main bed + retreat, which stayed upstairs. We converted the little open office area at the front of the ground floor into another Bedroom, so to answer your Q, there's now 5 Bed + a Study + a small dedicated Theater room The block is 560M2, however it's on a corner with a rock retaining wall inside the boundry, + on top of that, a steel fence errected by Stocklands sits another 1M in from the wall (much to the disgust of most if not all of us on this fence line) making the usable area under 500... Jimmy Re: Our Clarendon Arlington [Brisbane] - with a twist 4Oct 21, 2010 10:09 pm How annoying! Is this something that you were aware of when you purchased the land? 5 + bedroom on your block seems huge, but I guess it makes a difference when building a double story. Doesn't seems like many other dbl story properties surrounding you either. Can I ask what Parador is? I have heard it a few times and never knew what it was :S The road to success is always under construction House completed April 2011 - slowly making it a home... Doesn't seems like many other dbl story properties surrounding you either. Can I ask what Parador is? I have heard it a few times and never knew what it was :S WE were aware of the rock retaining (it was documented) but whilst we were told there 'should' be a fence errected along the back, there was no mention of exactly where. I'd assumed maybe something drilled into the rock.. or at very worst, a foot in. I'll have to take a photo to show how far in it sits.. Parador is just a brand (german) of timber laminate flooring http://www.parador.de/en.html the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6688 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
