Re: My house selections - cols, fittings, etc 2Oct 16, 2010 10:57 pm Oh yeah see my blog for some things, cols & house plan. Re: My house selections - cols, fittings, etc 3Oct 17, 2010 8:56 am Sounds great! For what it's worth here's my two cents. We have the White Pepper paint going on at the moment with Flokati trim and it looks great. We were using the Epping Cremorne as inspiration, and used a lot of greys and neutrals with a red splashback in the kitchen. I guess paint colours depend on if you want to use warm or cool palette. In our main bathroom we went with standard taps in the bath and shower rather than a mixer because we found our kids got confused with mixers and would burn themselves. We put mixers in the ensuite though. When we did our colour selection last December Porter Davis used Quantum Quartz, not Ceaserstone, it may have changed though. The colours are quite different between then. Dark colours were all upgrades, only the whites were standard. We went with Rio in the kids bathroom, which they love! Starlight Black in the ensuite and power and New Diamond White 40mm in the kitchen. The 40mm looks fantastic. Off-white mortar would look really nice with the Jasper. Can get expensive though just for mortar. Upgrading internal door handles to the next range is around $100, well worth it I think. Extra garden tap is useful, about $141, I put an extra one next to the laundry door for pets water bowls. Upgrading the underlay can be a good idea as this should last a long time and feels much better. I'd go with the Paperbark render for a bit of contrast. If funds are tight just take the standard front door and change it yourself later for much less. I wish I'd thought of the flyscreen doors!
