Hi Everyone,
This is purely a post to vent...sorry in advance!
We are building a single story 31sq home with H3NLEY. Site start was May 31st and we are just about finished. Technically the build hasn't taken all that long, but for the past month it feels like hardly anything has been done and I am sooooooooo over it. Back on Sep 20th the house was pretty much finished bar a few cosmetic bits & pieces. We had our own inspector go through a few days after that and he came up with a list of items that needed fixing. None of which were major, again, mostly cosmetic. It took H#NLEY over a week to respond to the report, though to their credit they did agree to fix nearly everything by October 19th. This was the first blow as we were expecting to actually have handover first week of October.
Anyway, we are now very close to that all important date and yesterday our cso said that the items on the report will be completed 'around' the 19th. So I'm guessing that means more time to wait now. The reason I'm so annoyed is because once everything is completed we still have to go to the 'handover' department, have our pci and then get the keys! CSO is saying that process usually takes 2-3 weeks. We are living with my parents at the moment and I am DYING to get out of here.
Just wondering if anyone that had built with H, particularly in Melbourne can give me an insight into how long the handover process takes. Trying to get any kind of commitment on dates from H has been impossible. From what we can tell they still have to replace the laundry bench which is chipped, paint touch-ups thoughout the house, re colouring the mortar where it has gone green and apply final render colour to front pillars.
Sorry again for the rant.
