PD have finally started

We have been watching everyone elses building progress on here and been quite envious. Its been six long months of waiting. Now we can finally say we have started down the building road . PD have done the site scrape today

and lenny our site supervisor says we will have a slab nov27 and a frame going up on dec 4th.

Congrats !!!!! I hope you have a stress free build. It seems like only yesterday we started and we have now been in for 2.5 weeks

Hey clath.

Well done... I know when I was in the same position watching everyone else tell their stories I was very envious & it seemed like forever for the builders to start on site. Now the fun part starts...

Congratulations Clath, don't forget to keep us informed and show us some pics of the building of your new home.
Vanessa and I are still in the waiting process unfortunately, titles are expected to be coming in 4th - 8th Dec Hopefully we can progress in January so we are not that far behind you guys.

.. I say that now but it will feel like ages.....

.yes its going to be a interesting and exciting time and hopefully everything will run smoothly. The last time we did this was 14 yrs ago . This time the process has been different. In our opinion PD is professional in the way they run their business, our last builder wasnt . Of cause things have changed since then. will try and post some pics here (if i can work out how) but if you look up the blog they are there.

Concrats Clath,

Take lots of pitcures as it will be built before you know it. Having picture of the wall frames certainly helps as Adrian B mentioned in posts here. I have used our pics a few times after moving in.

Keep a good eye on it - anything not up to scratch, jump on it straight away!! And like others have said - independent inspection, worth every cent!!!!!

Thanks Tony for the congrats. Yes we will take plenty of pics, doing that every time i go to the block. They have so far peg it out, so things will start to move next week. Its amazing watching the building in our street. Since Aug nearly every block is built on. PD move fast. For people who dont know PD purchased all the land in our street as house and land packages.

Tony how did it go with that blind man? Did you fix the issues with him?

Vanderlay yes we are thinking of getting Kevin from New Homes to independantly inspect the house. Did you have someone private to come
and check the construction of your house? Our site supervisor said
we wouldnt need one as they have their own quality inspectors. but we think it would be better to have someone independent.

Adam in regards to your question about the rubbish removal they put some of it back were it belonged to the neighbours. The rest well its pushed back to the back of the block :evil:

buried under dirt when they did the scrape. Today i went and cleaned up abit and threw it into the rubbish cage. Hope your build is going well.

Can't wait for our commencement date!

We also have issues with our neighbours dumping rubbish on our block.
Most of our neighbours within the street have already moved in and during construction they were dumping on our block.. even up to now! :twisted:

Actually, around 6 months ago, the builders from the two houses at the side of our house were dumping different stuff on our block. They even made our block their temporary storage of building materials and even used our cross over so their delivery trucks could easily access the back of their site.

The landscaper working on the front of our house also used our block as dumping ground. They even left some unused materials. :evil:

Up to now, that all of them have already moved in to their houses, we still see rubbish every week. Don't know who's the culprit. Hubby is tired of cleaning the block every week. Can't wait to commence building soon :roll:

VJ i heard form someone if you ring the local council and if you can prove who is dumping the rubbish, the council will fine them, wonder if its possible to put a temporary fence

hi Adam yeah it must get frustrating when things slow down and you see no progress. speak to your site supervisor.

As for us well :roll:

i havent been down to the block since last saturday and all they had done was scrape and peg . Better to have something than nothing at all i guess ) As our site supervisor said the slab would be poured nov 27 which was yest. So obviously there wont be a slab yet. I have a feeling that they will do the plumbing this week .and maybe a slab. so when i go down this weekend i will hopefully see some progress. :th:

Proberly best to think that it will happen eventually. and i will just have to practice patience. and we arnt in any hurry.
