I can finally start my own thread!! 62Jun 04, 2011 5:32 pm WOWOWOWOWOWOW Love your taste. I'm so excited for you. It's weird because I don't even know you but I feel jumping out of skin excited for you. I think it might have something to do with the fact that we have chosen some similar things and we're not all that far behind you. So with each step of the way for you I feel excited for you and for me!! I have to give special mention to the sliding baskets, they are FANTASTIC!!! I remember reading how much you wanted them and I'm super excited for you that you've pulled them off amazingly well. They look perfect where they are and its all just looking so beautiful. Glad you got some pendants you're happy with too as I've just been through that and it was hard. The ones I liked were around $400-$500 each and I ended up ordering some from 'cape cod designs' for around $200 each. If you havn't seen that web site yet, you should check it out I'm sure you'd love it. Anyway enough gushing, I am really forward to more progress from your lovely house. Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 66Jun 08, 2011 10:05 pm Thanks Pattycake4, we used half strength Dulux Ecru. I'm so happy with the result. It's a very similar colour to Dulux Hog Bristle but if you put the two colours together Hog Bristle looks like it has a pink tone to it. Everything else is White!! Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 68Jun 08, 2011 11:21 pm By the way, I love how you did the bath boxed in like that. Ours has a shelf either end which I'm happy with but if I had the room I'd definately go for something more like what you did. This is all so exciting isn't it? I think we have cornices tomorrow, then hopefully bricks & cladding next week. It's looking like end of july for us. What about you, you're obviously further ahead so end of June early July? Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 69Jul 06, 2011 10:43 pm I'm dying to know what's happening... Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 70Jul 07, 2011 7:59 am Hahaha cheerupcharlie. I have been thinking of posting something lately but just been soooo busy. We are almost in!!! Getting a bit frustrated with the electrician who is holding everything up at the moment. Everything else is complete, even the builders have been in and done their big clean up. I have started to move things into the house but we can't live there yet as there is no stove working no hot water and no heating yet!! Will post some piccies soon though. Hows your house going? I haven't been on here to check anything out, can't wait to have a spare minute to check it all out. Well must be off again, I have kids that need to get to a bus stop for school (it's 7:30am and they have an hour bus trip to school!!!!) Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 71Jul 07, 2011 9:04 am I to can't wait I love your kitchen so much I can imaging how the rest wil look. I have finally started tread Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 72Jul 08, 2011 9:13 pm Big thanks for the update, I'm sooo excited for you. I bet you can't wait to get into that kitchen and whip up some yummy goodies. It's disappointing about the electrician, especially as it seems the builder is right to go and he's holding things up. He obviously has no idea how much one desires to be in their brand new spanking amazing kitchen with special basket drawers. My kitchen is in now too so when you get a chance, check out my thread. I guess you may move before you get a chance to read this again but if you do happen to be reading I hope the move goes super smooth for you and we'll be thinking of you. Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 74Jul 14, 2011 10:00 am Hi Guys just a quick update!!!! WE HAVE MOVED!!!!! Finally we are in, there have been a few hiccups though, so updates are few and far between. I have to log my laptop over to the old house just to use the internet as we have satellite out here and they haven't moved the dish yet We are also having problems with power. There is not enough power to run the new house so we are trying to get a new transformer but ETSA won't come to the party. They want us to pay for it. I find that ludicrous as it's their property and they haven't done an upgrade since power was installed to the farm area some 50 years ago (I'm guessing the 50!!!) So in short we can't have the a/c running, make a cup of tea and have a shower or the power shuts off and then hubby has to drive over to the old house to turn it back on. A bit frustrating but it is making us aware of the power we use. You would think ETSA would want to make more money therefore by replacing the transformer they would increase revenue. We have thought about solar power and we do hope to go down this track one day but wasn't really on the plans in the immediate future. Cheerupcharlie - as soon as we have the satellite at the new house I will sit down and check out your whole thread, can't wait to see your kitchen!!! Happy building everyone!!! Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 75Jul 14, 2011 2:48 pm yaay happy dance for you!! I can't believe all the problems you're having with the power too. Kinda makes moving in bittersweet dosn't it? What were they using for the build for power? Woohoo I'm so happy for you. Re: YAY! I can finally start my own thread!! 76Jul 14, 2011 5:01 pm How exciting for you, pity about power Re: YAY! The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20186 Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
