Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 13, 2010 10:31 am Hi,
I've been lurking around for some time now so thought I'd start my own thread. We are hoping to build a modified version of the Sapphire that is on display at Bella Vista - http://www.roselea.com.au/sapphire.html I have attached links to our plans if anyone would like to have a look. Any comments or suggestions good or bad are welcome. Re: KDRB with Roselea Homes at West Pennant Hills NSW 5Oct 21, 2010 11:46 am I'm trying to decide whether to get rid of the door from the kitchen to the alfresco and replace it with a window and bench. This would then create a u-shaped kitchen. I would probably then move the sink to that position and have the breakfast bar completely clear. I can understand the door where it is if you want quick & easy access to the alfresco from the kitchen - especially if you have bifolds on the meals area. However, I chose to have stacker doors instead of bifolds. I want to install flyscreens as I am surrounded by kamikaze birds that quite often fly straight into my window panes. The kids forgot to shut the flyscreen once and we had a kookaburra fly in! Very scary!!!! Definitely adds alot more benchspace. Just one thing I would consider, and that is light. Depending on the size of the window you plan on putting in and the orientation of your home, you'll have less light into the kitchen... I'm not sure if that matters for you... A horizontal (long) window would be nice... spanning the almost the width of the new benchspace... Your best bet might be to go visit the display homes and walk around in them, and take photos. Get a feel for it in person instead of deciding from the floor plan. There… 1 21437 Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from? Looking for recommendations. Thanks 0 21099 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck.
