Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 10, 2010 9:44 am We are scheduled to have our PCI tomorrow morning at 9am and our house isn't finished!!! We went out to the house on Friday to find that the painter had not been out to do any of the external painting and we had no water! When our driveway was done, somehow the tap at the front had been damaged to the point that the meter is also broken. We are thinking that it was possibly run over by one of the tradies, and since then, we have had no running water. We are just wondering how we are expected to complete our inspection when the house isn't actually completed? I wanted to fill up the bath to ensure it could take the weight of the water, and turn the taps on full blast to check that the drains all work properly etc... We haven't received any contact from the builder about wanting to reschedule this inspection, but we are thinking that we may need to arrange another PCI prior to the final handover... Has this ever happened to anyone before? What should we do? Does anyone have any tips on anything else we should look out for at our PCI? Any feedback is appreciated Building Meridian 240 with AV J*nnings Locked Out 28/05/10 Re: PCI tomorrow and house NOT FINISHED!!!! Please help!!! 2Oct 10, 2010 10:50 am This just happened to us as well. On the day we decided along with construction manager that this shouldn't have been scheduled for that day (SS scheduled it then went on holidays), so what we did was still a walkthrough and gave him a list of fix it's but we didn't sign anything, they have since gotten things fixed and I'm having a meeting or PCI#2 with the SS this Wednesday. You could also call them and ask to reschedule for after painting is done and water fixed?!?! By the way our internal and external painting wasn't done, hot water not on, no garage door, internal doors not on, door knobs not on etc i would not be signing anything on the day read your contract about when builder submits final invoice generally, have to meet builder within 7 days of receiving final… 1 4735 interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 46957 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
