Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Drains above ground?? 2Nov 20, 2007 7:15 am Finished. Hopefully the top is below the level of your doorway. That is a dam you have there isn't it?
I would think they will be cut when whatever area is finished. It's too easy to drop crap in there when they're at ground level. Or it will be left for you, once you've paved, grassed whatever. Re: Drains above ground?? 3Nov 20, 2007 7:58 am Hey BMP,
Adenbrook finished ours the same way.....no problem with it. The pipes in the top pic are inspection holes. The sealed one on the left is sewer, the right one is stormwater. The botton row of the bricks is where the Termimesh is installed...they reccommend that you leave at least 75mm between the Termimesh and the ground line...which is about where the top of the inspection hole are. (you still have a fair bit of fill to raise the ground level up to the right height) The pipe in the bottom pic is a yard gully and can be cut to whatever level you finish the ground at. A quick tip......dig a bit of a hole around this one and temporarily put a much shorter piece of pipe in there until you finish the landscaping. We had to do this to stop the backyard turning into a swamp over the last week. Cheers, Mark Re: Drains above ground?? 4Nov 20, 2007 8:47 am Wow, thats a rare specimen! What you have there is a few varieties of wild toadsools. This fungi is known to pop up overnight in moist paddocks, but is rare in suburban Brisbane. Eating these toadstools is a sure way to encounter magical beings that will seduce you, and hold you captive to their will, until you have given birth to their offspring. The only way to release you from this curse is to dance naked around your house at dawn for 5 mornings, whilst chanting lewd incantations. You might like to collect them and invite your builder for breakfast, offering them in a lovely omellette. Hope that helps! Ash.
