Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 06, 2010 6:42 pm WE are finding that our double d/way always has 2 cars parked on it Which means that we/visitors need to walk on the grass to get to our front door I've googled for pics of what people have done with their entrances but have had no luck in finding possible solutions to this. Apart from moving one of the cars..........yes, I know DH doesn't want pavers around which he has to trim and I don't want concrete or more granite..........anyone got any other ideas ? driveway Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ front entry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Entry to front door - what kind of approach ? 2Oct 06, 2010 7:28 pm Pavers in pebbles rather than in grass? Building on an acre in Macedon ......one day. Re: Entry to front door - what kind of approach ? 3Oct 06, 2010 7:31 pm Our old place was the same, you had to walk to the end of the driveway to reach the path to the front door and half the time a car was in the way. This is a house I saw that I loved the entry ... I know you didn't want pavers etc, but thought I'd share anyway. The driveway is to the left of this picture. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h40/nic71/Ideas/Front.jpg ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Entry to front door - what kind of approach ? 5Oct 06, 2010 7:41 pm How about some nice timber decking path? ---------------------------------------- Building the PD Lisbon 24 http://www.porterdavis.com.au/#homeviewer/lisbon/24 Blog of our progress. http://lisbon24.blogspot.com/ Homeone build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28665 Re: Entry to front door - what kind of approach ? 6Oct 06, 2010 8:26 pm how about some compacted granitic sand? or is that covered in the granite that you don't want? here's our path, that hardly ever gets used Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Re: Entry to front door - what kind of approach ? 8Oct 06, 2010 8:59 pm Here are a couple of ideas around us, there are a lot of timber decks being used, also if you get rid of the grass between the driveway and path there would be not extra trimming to do, Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cheers Lou http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Entry to front door - what kind of approach ? 9Oct 07, 2010 7:10 am mummagoose : we have a neighbour's tree that drops tiny leaves uughh..... My folks have one .... it's awesome to clean paved areas, pebbles areas etc. Don't know what they're actually called though! Building on an acre in Macedon ......one day.
