Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 06, 2010 3:59 pm Good afternoon all, We are in the final stages of selecting a builder. Is anyone currently building with Cosmopolitan? I am interested to know if your experience has been positive/negative and what to expect with turn around times, build quality, etc? Many thanks PK Re: Building with Cosmopolitan 2Oct 06, 2010 10:01 pm We are about to sign with Cosmo. Just making a few tweaks to the quote. I've read a bit about them on the forum and there's been some bad feedback, mostly with the pre-construction issues. We've already seen their sloppy work on the quote revisions but have been taking notes and keeping record of all requests so things have been resolved to date. The estate we've bought in has a lot of Cosmo homes but otherwise we hadn't heard of them. Going with them cos they are familiar with the estate and very active there. Sorry that I can't help with building and turnaround times with that. Hope you can make a decision on builder soon. We had quite a few issues with them prior to construction starting, but now we have a great site supervisor who is really on side and its getting there. I have found that the quality is good. Generally we are happy, except for those early stages. A good CSO makes a great deal of difference. If your not getting good service, demand someone else. My DH is completely anal (ok organised) and has already sat the salesman down to highlight mistakes before we signed the quote. We got an email from the CSO introducing themselves yesterday. Here's hoping we got ourselves a good one. Where are you building Fisser? Land at Chermside At tender stage Re: Building with Cosmopolitan 5Oct 19, 2010 12:48 pm Good luck with your builds. I am nearing lockup stage now and I am building the cabarita 33, but its heavily modified so it basically looks like a different house. Have to admit their back office is a bit of a basket case, but once you are through the hoops, the construction process is ok. I am building out of the main areas, so I cant expect it to go up as quickly, as people building in the estates. Quality appears good so far, brick laying, although slow (2 months to finish) , has been good qaulity. I’m curious about how you went with this. We are planning a KDRB and considering Plantation Homes as a builder. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 11741 |
