Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 03, 2010 4:08 pm Hi All, Went a saw quite a few houses yesterday with the brickZinc from Austral and LOVED IT!!! We are just confussed at what colour would go good with this brick as we are building townhouses and want to render top level and a feature wall. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. So far we have: Roof Tiles: Newcastle or something similar Face Brickwork - Zinc Render – ‘Colourbond Shale Grey’ or something similar Aluminium Windows – ‘Colourbond Woodland Grey’ or similar like 'colourbond monument' Fascia/ guttering – ‘Colourbond Woodland Grey’ or similar 'colourbond monument' Feature wall - ???? Please help:) Not sure if we should a light grey for rendering or something with a hint of cream. All these colours....im so confused. Re: Need Help...Colour Scheme 2Oct 03, 2010 5:37 pm We used shale grey in our last home and I never liked it, always looked like it wasn't painted yet or something. Personally I would go with something with a bit more colour if you go a grey tone, or a creamy shade if you want a pale colour. But that's just me. Hi emlet01, Thanks for the feedback. much appreciate. Do you suggest any colours in particular, both in a grey tone and a creamy colour? Re: Need Help...Colour Scheme 4Oct 04, 2010 1:53 pm Hi, Well it is just such a matter of personal taste. Check out the rendered pics from homes here on H1, there are so many beautiful ones!! I personally love colorbond paperbark in the creamy tones but if you are going a grey tone I would probably pick a colour from a paint chart rather than a colorbond one, and would probably have something with a bit more tone to it than the lighter shale grey type colours. That is purely my taste though!! (And believe me, I'm no designer LOL, colour selection was a nightmare for me!). We are tossing up between the shale grey and the evening haze, or even something in between that. Because the bricks are a grey colour, we want to keep with the grey them, well to an extent.
