It was coming down sideways here. Our workshop was under 6 inches of water. Lost power 3 times. Not looking forward to the drive home. Mike. My Blog... http://ahouseonthehill.blogspot.com/ Re: Lock Up !!! 23Dec 20, 2007 3:41 pm LOL, sorry mate, just playing with your mind.....
I'm sure it will be perfectly fine...... Drive home carefully then hey? Re: Lock Up !!! 24Dec 21, 2007 7:21 am I live in Melbourne - Took me over an hour to get home last night - a trip that normally takes 15 minutes (Glen Waverley to Boronia) After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Re: Lock Up !!! 26Dec 21, 2007 7:41 am Surprisingly it wasn't too bad.. Would have only been an extra 5 - 10 mins ontop of the normal trip.
I did manage a quick stop off at the house. I think some serious irrigation / drainage is req'd when doing the landscaping. Water level was almost upto the bottom of the front door.. & that's without the driveway done (which would raise it another 100mm or so). The render looks to of withstood the downpoor, luckily. Think that might be it from the builders for a couple of weeks. Carlisle come back on the 7th of Jan, so I'm tipping not much happening until then. I'll update the blog when the weather gets better & I can take some pics. Cheers, Mike. Hey Mike, checked out your little "water feature" at your place.....hmmm gumboots indeed........your whole portico is under about40mm of water...... You might want to take some pics and see if Davinci or other members can give you some advice???? Maybe you can look at some channel style drains between the driveway and possibly at the front of the portico and in front of the garage doors too...... Re: Lock Up !!! 31Dec 22, 2007 1:05 pm **Phoenix** Maybe you can look at some channel style drains between the driveway and possibly at the front of the portico and in front of the garage doors too...... The exposed aggregate driveway comes with a channel drain infront of the garage included... but definately a good idea to extend it infront of the portico aswell. Mike. My Blog... http://ahouseonthehill.blogspot.com/ Re: Lock Up !!! 32Dec 22, 2007 1:10 pm Mike, would you also need on between the driveway and the portico??? Or is the driveway going to be angled as such that it runs off to the left??
I hope you get what i mean??? Hey but what do i know, i suggest you ask the experts while you can show them how the water can pile up....see what they can suggest. 1 4678 |
