Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 30, 2010 7:52 am Hey guys, we are in the process of building our first home. We would love to hear any suggestions/experiances. We are aiming at a budget of 220 k including site costs carpet tiles etc. We have a reasonably flat block approx 720 sq, and looking at houses in the range of 24 - 27 sqm. We have looked at a few displays , eden brae saville 25 leading the way. If anyone has had experiance with beachwood, allworth etc in this price range would be great to hear your ideas. Not sure if the eden brae is a realistic option on our budget. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers Re: Building on a 220k budget 2Sep 30, 2010 9:18 am I built a 22 square home including absolutely everything (and upgrades) for $195K, so I'm sure 220K for a 24+ would be reasonable depending on the builder. My builder is QLD only (to my knowledge). Building at Warner Lakes in sunny Queensland. Building with Bold Properties. That included all flooring, downlights in living areas, site costs, driveway, fencing, etc. So I think your budget could be easily achievable.
What state you looking to build in? Re: Building on a 220k budget 4Sep 30, 2010 9:27 am Rough rule of thumb if you want everything in there including driveway, turf, fencing and a couple of split system AC units should be around $950 - $1000 per sqm with most builders so your budget of $220K for a 24sq home is not unrealistic (unless of course you have P or E class soil in need of a ton of piers). Coming back to your old stomping grounds, huh? Renovations on a budget can be quite the journey. It's like giving your house a new lease on life.
